Humiliated on and off the pitch.
Reds out of luck at Nou Camp
What more could Klopp ask of his men in the second leg on Tuesday (20:00 BST kick-off at Anfield) after a display where they constantly probed and pressured the competition favourites?
Maybe some luck could have gone their way. Sadio Mane, with 15 goals in his past 18 games, shot well over from eight yards out after he was found by Jordan Henderson's ball from the right in the first half.
And in their period of domination after the interval, Ter Stegen was at full stretch to push away Milner's shot before the German dived low to his right to make a one-handed stop from Salah's drive.
Liverpool refused to let their heads drop after Messi's mini-show. However, they must have thought the gods are not shining on them this year after both Firmino and Salah missed clear-cut chances you would have put money on them to score.
Jesus effing christ! I didn't watch the game, but from what I read, that missed a couple of absolute sitters, and the report above from the BBC says that's bad luck haha you bloody kidding me? When a Sunday league footballer misses a sitter, they're called a donkey but the so called best player in the world does it and its bad luck.
There's a reason why Mane, salah and firminho are at Liverpool and not a proper big club, sounds like they proved why tonight.
It could have been anything to be fair. LFC had a few chances earlier on.Barca sucked them in them countered all night, could easily have been 5-0

They had more shots on target than us. So the outcome should have favoured them slightly. That they scored more than 2 goals is more a function of that rebound goal for Messi. You can't legislate for those in statistics (I don't think).
xG was 2.7 to 1.6. We lost 3-0
However you cut it, at best we were unlucky. At worst we weren't as good as we could be.
Edit: The Semedo sub also shut us down it looks like, again that has to do with not having enough "real" attackers on the field.
It's a weird one because I've seen reports that have us at 8 shots on target vs Barcelona's 5. Either way, their xG is higher than ours because they created better chances. Secondly, because their front 3 are so good, they routinely outperform their xG. Ours do too but as good as our front three are, I think Messi and Suarez are both better finishers than our players.
I thought this kind of attitude had been pushed into the fountain a long time ago.I despise the RS but if Barcelona are the benchmark then I give up. RS are bad but Barcelona including Messi are a team of gimps who could not stand up in a breeze. Give me the game before foreign imports when it was played by people with some backbone, and as it happened British teams did well. Dont want to sound like Farage but all South American, Spanish and Italian cheating behaviour had wrecked the game.
What do you mean?Hearing Silva texted Messi telling him hell send Brands out if he scores against the RS. Could be a good summer.
You can take the boy out of Barcelona...Well in Links.
Guess it means a change from Egyptian cheating, hey?I despise the RS but if Barcelona are the benchmark then I give up. With those advanced stat metrics, they've won the Alternative Champions League. Add that to the APLT, and this really has been their year.Jesus
