ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Considering they lost the first leg 3-0, they have injuries, and the opposition is Barcelona with Messi and Suarez in tow the amount of optimism from the cult is unbelievable. They still, after the continuous lessons, cannot just engage one ounce of humility and accept that tonight is a long shot. Instead they are utterly convinced that Origi Sturridge and Brewster are going to sweep away Barca in another magical European night. Of course all outcomes are possible in football so they could do that but the likelihoods are stacked against them. Why can’t they just behave in a level headed manner about anything? Even a convincing Barcelona win tonight still wouldn’t have them accepting the result over two legs. They are truly lost in their own delusion. It’s a mentality that has spurred them to great comebacks in the past but has also probably prevented them from winning anything of note for 12 years. Stupid arrogant stunts like trying to win 10-0 at Palace only to throw it away, or bragging about ‘blowing away’ Madrid, turning up to semi finals against Villa and Southampton like they were already won, players talking about the quadruple this season after a few games, the constant pre-match mocking of us even though we should have derailed their season in November and may well have done it in March.

It’s arrogance to the extreme. They were at it before the Barcelona game and got taught a lesson and now they’re at it again. How many times until they learn.

They should take a leaf out the book of one of their most knowledgeable learned fans. ‘No Respecto’

They dominated though. Not in a goal scorey way. Or a shots on target kind of way. And not the possession either.

But they dominated ok.

Phi Neville talking to sky sports on Jurgen Klopp: "I'd love to play for that manager"

Klopp is very Phil-like though...... loves a rallying clap of the hands, teeth whitening, I bet klopp would have Phil as his chief snitch too...... telling tales that Shaquiri was squatting 150kg when he was told he needs to keep them no heavier than 80kg as he looks like a character from game of thrones.

So after a lengthy chat with my RS mate on the phone this is how it should go.....

Him "If Man City do win the league by one point then it shouldn't stand"

Me "What do you mean, it shouldn't stand?"

Him "Because it wouldn't be fair if there was only one point in it"

Me "Well it would be fair because they got one more point than you. I bet if you won it by one point we wouldn't be having this conversation"

Him "We would"

Me "Hahahah, so what's the solution" (I knew he was going to come out with some crap)

Him "The premier league should play a 2 legged tie home and away between us and Man City, winner gets the title"

Me, drops phone on floor because I'm shaking uncontrollably with laughter.

I can’t think of another club who would go to the Nou Camp, lose 3-0 (could have been more) have a couple of shots on target but probably only one gilt edged chance (which came from a Barca mistake clearing one of their hoofs), and then send their 20 year old full back who has done nothing in the game out to a press conference to tell the worlds media how they dominated Barca at the Nou Camp. Like who at the club thought that was a good idea?

That whole club for me was summed up by their CEO tweeting about ‘dominating europe’ and ‘We are liverpool’ in what should have been an apology for wreaking havoc on yet another European City. Their whole club from top to bottom reeks of arrogance and have ingrained that as their culture through the propagation of propaganda reinforcing this as the party line not to be crossed by an employee or any media acolyte associated with the club.

To add to that, Alexander Arnold didn’t even ply in the first leg so is bigging up an imaginary domination that he wasn’t even part of. Beyond parody.
