ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Yes, I know how it works.

We’re that concerned with how they’re doing, we don’t even care about the state of our own club anymore.

Spurs have managed to eclipse Arsenal and City have done the same with United. We seem to be content with just supporting whoever is playing against them.
It’s actually becoming embarrassing now.
That's not a fan problem, it;s an ownership problem.

They've accounted for some decent teams with decent forward lines.

Ajax or Spurs will be second favourites, but they wont be David v Goliath. Just look at how Liverpool have struggled to get a goal win against Fulham, Newcastle etc etc.

Indeed. It´s all about getting over the obstacle of that first 20 minutes. If whoever is in the final can navigate that then it´ll be a massive shock for Liverpool. Especially their supporters who are planning the victory parade already.

Don´t do it to yourself. As a fan base, I don´t think our supporters have got the stomach for that kind of fight. Even if we did though, what would it realistically achieve? The decisions are out of our hands.
There are thousands who still have the fight for it.

Take the stadium, for example, are we really going to just sit back and watch them lock us in to a ridiculously small capacity and have them tell us it is a good thing?

Liverpool fans have never let their owners get away with anything. We just sit back and laugh ‘Everton, that’.

Allowed a man like Bill Kenwright to still be involved in the club.

It’s truly sickening.

Then you'd be a mug, because it's a one off. Liverpool dont always play like they did tonight. As you know if you think back a few short days.
They’ve lost 1 league game all season.
They’ve just knocked out the overwhelming favourites
They’ll be up against a team of kids, from a 2nd rate league, or a side who’ve won 1 league cup in 20yrs and who they’ve already taken 6pts off this season

Last time when Ajax won it, 95 or 96 (forgot exactly) they were also team of kids, so you never know

As long as Sunday goes well thats my priority this season with them. If they remain title-less for 30 years, that's just dandy for me.

And I'll laugh me bollocks off if they fail to crack Ajax or Spurs in the final. I'd actually look forward to them stressing on that one in the next few weeks. It'd be a good consolation if they did win it, but still a consolation. I have a feeling what theylve done is remove Barcelona out the road and that'll be it.

Wait and see, I suppose.

Sunday is THE day though. If City get that trophy out of their hands then we breathe for a few weeks....at least.

You´re preaching to the choir. My contempt for that man has reached levels I usually reserve for Tory politicians. I just don´t see how it changes anytime soon. People (especially of my generation) have became numb to the decline.

I was there for all the Blue Union protests years back. If people weren´t interested back then, unfortunately they´re not going to be interested now.

You know all that can be countered.

You also know that it's a final and that's a game that can go any way when two teams of roughly the same ability play.

It;s Brighton mate. They'll be hammered by HT.

I'll celebrate their loss on Sunday and then deal with the CL final thereafter.

Believe me, if they win the CL it'll be a lot less of a trauma than if they'd won the PL.

A big day out and homecoming. That's it. The gloss wears off. And they'll have a job on their hands winning it, btw.

I firmly believe they will win nothing.

Vault me but I am clear on this.

Well done to them tonight- I accept this

So what? They're here again and have won f.a.

His point was about Liverpool capitulating and dropping off.
They've come back stronger this season. Added to that they seem to have a belief about them and tonight showed not just quality but a steely determination.
And let's face it - will be even stronger next season ...
