ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Absolutely gutted at Barca's capitulation last night but, credit where credit's due, the rs know exactly how to play in Europe.
This is exactly where we should aspire to be my friends and yes, I hate myself for even writing this!
COYB and let's have a team that can challenge Europe's top sides.
Make it so Marcel and Marco.

Everton can well get champions league next season. We should walk it. Then have some nights of our own like that.
How long have you been supporting us mate. I would love to agree with you and build your hopes up with all the reasons we should but when you've been a blue for as long as I have, the disappointments just keep coming thick and fast. I too lived in that little fantasy world for a bit when I was young but when they beat us in the fa cup semi in 1971 followed by their total dominance in the 70,s and early 80,s I resigned myself to heartache where football is concerned. Then we had those glory days in the mid 80,s that all came crashing down, partly down to, yes you've guessed it, our lovable neighbours. But did they get punished by the footballing gods, no they absolutely did not. Whereas we on the other hand have been consigned to getting our glorification from seeing them loose, which unfortunately doesn't happen very often. Bitter, me??? You'd better believe it, although to most of my mates who are RS I bimble my way through my footballing life pretending I'm not bothered, but inside its a nightmare. SIGH!!!!!

His point was about Liverpool capitulating and dropping off.
They've come back stronger this season. Added to that they seem to have a belief about them and tonight showed not just quality but a steely determination.
And let's face it - will be even stronger next season ...
Will they?

Dave, you belittled my opinion about Barca and La Liga and then went on to call me a RS because of it. Well, I’m certainly not a RS and the majority on the forum seem to agree about the Spanish League and this Barca team now being weak. What’s your opinion now? You can call me a RS all you want, I’d like to think that I talk sense which is something you never seem to do. You let your hatred of them get in the way of rational thought. And you also have a habit of passing your opinions off as some kind of fact, it’s genuinely weird. And you never did answer my question to you about you going the game. I’ll ask again as you totally swerved it last time. Do you go the match? How often do you get to see them to form all these opinions you have?
Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with not going, as we can all be a fan or supporter of whoever we want..................But for you to throw accusations around about me being a RS whilst I’ve missed 2 games of ours due to work, you best be in a position of power. I support my team, I support them with my wages, You are just a fan. Not a supporter, a fan. Big difference.
Freak game.

If Barcleona play Liverpool 10 times they'd win 7 draw 2 and lose one.

They'll have lost the league by HT on Sunday. The big one gone for them. Their wait for the title goes on to the 30th season.....the 30th season.

Three weeks after that on a neutral ground they'll face a stiff test to win the consolation prize. If they win it - IF they win it - they'll be what they are: a dangerous cup side.

That's the reality this morning after the night before.

I would not swap a Barcelona win last night for that City win on Monday night in a month of Sundays. That's the context right there.

Tottenham could do the Red Shoite on a neutral ground, not sure Ajax can !
It's an English cup final on a neutral ground, just as United v Chelsea was. We saw how tight that game was. Spurs have a knack of winning cups every bit as much as Liverpool do.

I think it'll be Ajax though.

Can't agree with people wanting Tottenham to win. The only team in Europe I'd have less faith in would be Everton.

Ajax have already knocked out Real Madrid and Ajax, and have probably been the best team in the competition this year. They are far and away the better choice.
