ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I cannot believe someone on here called the CL a consolation prize, utterly bizarre.

The winners this year Will be earning £140 million from cash prize and tv money, on top of that new commercial partners throwing money at the winning club, and also growing a bigger lucrative fanbase.

It's the biggest club trophy on the planet by far.

Look at the How badly Abramovich wanted that trophy, and look at the 2 state run plastic teams, City are paying Guardiola £18 million a year for him to win them that trophy, The Qatar Royal family are selling PSG because of the failure of their investment, the Emir of Qatar wants that trophy so badly that he's willing to sell up and buy Roma and go again to try and win it.

Juve didn't sign Ronaldo to sell shirts, they crave that trophy more than anything, same with Bayern who sacked managers who flop in the competition, Madrid winning in those 7 CL's between 1998-2018 gave up the leagues to concentrate on winning the CL.

And this was Messi at a kit unveiling to a packed Camp Nou this summer with an announcement.

You must be confident that Everton will soon be competing in the CL if you're looking up the financial implications. Here's me thinking you'd be thrown into a figurative fountain of despair after the first leg but you're just considering Everton's future prospects.

Spot on mate.

Great season...no trophy...very good opponent to overcome on a neutral pitch.

Over to them after Sunday. The partying will have been done on the "greatest ever comeback" and they have the hard yards to make.

If they lose the final then “the greatest ever comeback” will be filed under “statistical oddities which meant nowt in the greater scheme of things”.

Right along with Roma’s comeback against Barcelona last season.

And Barcelona themselves coming back against PSG.

Same way no one but themselves will remember the season the runners up got 97 points happen all goes well on Sunday :)

My 15yr old was grabbed by his Kopite PE teacher who forced a RS scarf on him whilst all the other kids laughed and filmed his humiliation.
I wasn't aware that public humiliation was part of the school curriculum.
Now if the result had gone the way and my lad had put a Barcelona scarf on a kid much younger than him while all the other kids laughed and filmed it then I'm certain I would have got a phone call from the school and rightly so.
I'm sure the teacher will claim it's only 'banter' but I'm feckin fuming.

Ask to speak to the schools SENCO/inclusions manager. State that you have a severe concern about safeguarding and that you are worried about your childs mental health. Ask to see their policies on clothing not related to the school, to bullying, to the use of camera's and or phones during lesson time etc. Ask how this behaviour fits into this ethos.

Let them you know you want to know what action will be taken from this, and if it is not sufficient you want to meet with the governors and will be letting either the LEA or the academy chain know as well as speaking to the government.

He should lose his job for that. It is not just unprofessional it is borderline child abuse. It will also be worth asking what happens to the film of what has been taken, and stating that you wish for that to be destroyed, and you have not convened to your child being filmed while on school property. (It may even be worth asking to see what their GDPR policies are).

You have a strong case their mate. The fella should lose his job, you should receive a formal apology and potentially compensatory damages. The lads filming it may even be excluded with a bit of luck (and thus ruining their GCSE chances which would be a nice bonus). Any teacher/school manager refusing to act upon this could also end up losing their job.

I'd also suggest tentatively sounding out a solicitor as well.

If you want more advice don't hesitate to DM me and I can elaborate on how I would move forward with each stage. I'm sure there are some legal people on here who I am sure will be willing to help. However be very certain, that an adult on Locus Parentis who is harming and violating a child under their care, and then allowing the abuse to be filmed without the consent of either their child, or their parents will be in serious trouble. I suspect only a handful of (noncey) Kopites will justify this behaviour as "banter". It is child abuse.

What you suggest in your first two paragraphs will result in the school passing it off as 'banter'.

Did you not read my post on the previous page? Straight to the Police to press charges of assault on the person of a minor.

Three weeks to the final. If you're them you want it next week. They have momentum. A lot can happen in an idle period of that length of time.

Whoever wins this SF tonight will give them a game, no question. Forget last night. It was a one off effort where they simply had to gun it from the KO. Barcelona got lost and the was that. Big crowd impact too. Partisan and loud...all conditions that wont be there in the final.

Liverpool have edged past a load of tat all season, cheating pens in the last minute against minnows. If anyone thinks that lot step onto the pitch in Madrid on 1st June as overwhelming favourites they must have rocks in their head. It will be close. They can win it, and so too can Spurs or Ajax.

I think they will do it against Ajax mate, I was wrong (although was always a bit nervous about the Barca game 2nd leg hence why I kept quiet in the lead up to last nights game).

That being said it is worth noting that Barcelona were hideous last night. As much as Liverpool were good, they were hideous. They were outran by 22k. Thats about 3 times more than United were against us (and that was noticeable).

The 4th goal they concede has to be the worst bit of defending I think I've ever seen. Not a single member of their team is switched on.

Anyway long and short of it is, Ajax will be the opposite. They are big underdogs, but a great team with real quality. There is a possibility Liverpool will struggle with the tag of being big favourites. We have to hope anyway.

You can do both at the same time. I am not so sure it will be put across as "banter" but it depends how it's phrased.

The key questions ought to be;
1) What is the school policy on bullying? (and then subsequently how they deal with a child's wellbeing being massively hit.
2) What are the GDPR policies? Where have they got consent for the child to be filmed? Have they gained that? With either the parents or the child? If not why not?
3) What is the policy on cameras/phones being used during learning time? In what way are they an aid to the learning intention of the lesson? If this can't be explained why are they in use?
4) Are football scarves part of the uniform? If no why are they being used in lessons?
5) To what extent is it appropriate for an adult in Locus Parentis to put a child in their care in a situation where they felt violated, shamed and made to wear something against their consent?

If their response to these is "banter" I would politely urge that you should then speak to the governors and also have that person removed, as they do not have the necessary understanding of safeguarding. It would be a brave SENCO to not act upon this.

But yes, in parallel by all means go to the police. Make them aware you are doing that too, and that you will be seeking criminal charges, and if they don't act appropriately they will find themselves mixed up in it.
