ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I've had enough of these gobsh***s now.

Two weeks to get other stuff onto the back pages and avoid their sour grapes. Aston Villa potentially coming back up, and august founder member of the football league, and Derby-Leeds this evening - how is that not getting brought up as the number one topic? Or the impending women's world cup in our virtue signalling media, or the FA Cup at the weekend. All much more important than the second place team feeling aggrieved.

I truly hope that this period before the CL final is the straw that breaks the camel's back for that shower, and they are shown up as the ungracious bunch of whinge bags that they are.

The media establishment don’t care about 99% of football now. Years of proud history of clubs that made the game in this country swept under the carpet, football before 1992 doesn’t matter (apart from one exception of a certain team’s title wins of course) but literally every single other thing that occurred before this date doesn’t matter. Dean, Ball, Labone, Summerbee, Regis, Brady, even George Best, Robson heroes of the game from across all clubs largely forgotten about now barely mentioned (except for Dalglish of course).

The oldest cup competition in the world? An afterthought unless Liverpool are winning it.

Some of the greatest club teams this country us ever seen winning multiple titles? Mentioned less than Liverpool’s 13/14 second place. God even Leicester’s miracle title win is mentioned less than Liverpool’s near misses.

Sadly the game has been subsumed by a money spinning media monster linked to gambling, tv, and corporate sponsorship, and in England at least it predominately revolves around one club. Everything else is utterly irrelevant to them.

The greatest English national team of all time barely gets a mention any more FFS. Most fans would struggle to name the lineup now when they should be revered as World Cup winners. No other country behaves this way. Instead we used have article after article about how Gerrard could have captained any England team in history and would make an all time England XI.

Manchester City have broken their silence on the Uefa investigation that could result in the club being hit with a one-season Champions League ban, claiming suggestions of wrongdoing are “entirely false” and that there is “comprehensive proof” otherwise...….

City said in a statement that the suggestion those involved in the investigatory process, overseen by Yves Leterme, the former Belgian prime minister, had already found the club guilty of breaking financial fair play regulations was “extremely concerning”. There are eight members of the Uefa investigatory chamber of the semi-autonomous club financial control body, which oversees the monitoring of, among other things, Financial Fair Play.

Among them is Rick Parry, chief executive at Liverpool from 1998 to 2009 and former Premier League chief executive. The final decision is made by Leterme, chairman and chief investigator of Uefa’s investigatory chamber. In the event of finding a breach of regulations, he would present his evidence to the decision-making adjudicatory chamber. Parry declined to comment yesterday when asked if he was one of the investigatory chamber members on the City case, or whether he considered there to be any conflict of interest that might lead to him recusing himself.

Quelle surprise. Christ Almighty….theyre like bindweed and have roots everywhere. I wonder if hes had the now customary two faced RS texts asking him to 'do the right thing' to condemn City…. in spite, of course, of him being vilified by them prior to his exit.

None the wiser really meself….especially when Spurs were originally designated the "Home" Side

Champions League final dressing rooms: Liverpool in lap of luxury... Spurs in broom cupboard!
By James Badcock

If Mauricio Pochettino wants to conjure with Tottenham’s underdog status in his pep talk before the Champions League final, he will gain some assistance from the surroundings after a ricochet effect from security plans in Madrid saw Spurs get the small away team’s dressing room at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
Although Tottenham are officially billed as the home team by Uefa for the June 1 sporting showcase, it will be Liverpool’s players who relish the plush environs of Atlético Madrid’s home ground dressing room, it was revealed during a media preview of the stadium’s facilities on Monday.

The reason, according to Fernando Fariza, Atlético Madrid’s stadium business and operations director, is security, which will see the fans from the two English clubs approach the stadium from opposite directions.

Tottenham have been designated as the team occupying the northern end of the ground, meaning the organisers have decided to allocate the London club the away dressing room and bench, located on that side of the stadium. Liverpool’s plusher dressing room, with a shower and treatment area on the scale of a decent-sized public swimming pool, will be pretty much under where Reds fans will be seated around the stadium’s southern end.
The decision to choose the allocation of the fan areas and corresponding ends of the stadium was taken “according to the characteristics of the two groups of fans, with security in mind”, according to Mr Fariza, who did not explain further what the distinctions between the two sets of supporters are.
Basically, because their fans are a security risk, the team benefit? Koff

Should have issued..
" Seeing as Liverpool ran us quite close this season, were not really arsed about the champions league, it will give us chance to concentrate on domestic competition and maybe break the record for consecutive league titles "

Yep and Parry confirmed as one of the eight investigators, you couldn't make these up, really it's all just so far-fetched it could almost be laughable but it's true...
