ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Guardiola has had the luxury of making a few disastrous signings and blowing £100m and brushing it off as if he had dropped a penny, but no other club in the Premier League can just spend and spend again if they make transfer mistakes on that scale.

Can anybody name a disastrous Guardiola signing ??????
That Zinchenko lad isn't great but they've won the league so doesn't matter.

Love Zinks, not so much his ability as a left back but his overall attitude. He's only 22 and has done ok as a makeshift left back. He only cost £1.5M and he plays with no fear. Turned down a move to another prem club so he could stay and fight for his place.
Pep loves his attitude and has told him he can have a long career at City. Just a shame that he won't get many chances in his real position as left winger/left sided midfielder.

He must be pulling up trees in training as City have pulled out of signing Chillwell from Leicester apparently. I've only ever seen him pass the ball inside to Fernandhino or Gundogan.

I hadn't heard that. I still think we'll sign another left back. Would be crazy to rely on Mendy with Zinks as back up. As for his passing, he does actually whip in some great crosses and has a good eye for a pass.

I’d love Zinchenko at Everton as a midfielder. Positionally excellent, doesn’t give the ball away, creative, and now schooled in defensive awareness too. Offer him first team football and he’d be great here. He’s won Guardiola over though so probably has no reason to leave. It’s just lazy journalism when they say ‘Zinchenko is a weak link’ etc. Not lost a game with him in the team.

Now even The Racing Post is at it.

The big six is no more. There is only the big two. That is the inescapable conclusion to draw from the 2018-19 Premier League season, which was dominated in a manner more familiar with La Liga or the Scottish Premier League.

There is an irony in regard to the latter division because this was the first time in seven seasons in which the age-old Celtic-Rangers stranglehold was reestablished following Rangers’ demotion as a result of their financial turmoil. Prior to that the Glasgow clubs had been first or second in 15 of the previous 16 seasons.

As with Celtic and Rangers, or for that matter Barcelona and Real Madrid, England now has two vastly superior clubs in Manchester City and Liverpool. Time will tell how long that remains the case but it could be a lengthy duopoly.[/b]

They are now proclaiming that, on the strength of on season, English football is now the same sort of “duopoly” that prevails in Scotland and Spain.

hahahaha

Bookmark this for next season. If that was man city and chelsea as the top 2 they wouldn't dare write that

think he'll be your park-ji-sung.

City haven’t even wasted as much as Liverpool did in the Comollo days. Carrol Benteke Lambert Downing Adam, Karius cake and went in a season, Sakho and Can didn’t hang around, they’ve spent an absolute fortune trying to get a decent team together.

Aldo reeks of bitterness because City achieved 4 times in a few years what Liverpool have failed to do in 30 years.
I can't remember any anti-City ramblings last year when they didn't get close. Funny that.
