ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Oh undoubtedly but it’s just that, an achievement, Ajax aren’t one of the 4 best sides in Europe, neither are Spurs. I referred to them as kids because most of the team are so young.

We’re starting to see a trend more and more though of teams winning titles in the top leagues being unable to go the distance in the CL. The CL semi finals are no longer bringing together the best 4 teams in Europe. In fact it’s turning into a lottery of which team doesn’t have any major domestic distractions and gets lucky with injuries/fixtures/ the placement of the tie come March/April. City and PSG would have beat any of the semi finalists at a neutral venue, and both went out via away goals having not even been beaten outright over two legs.

You can’t deny that the CL is exciting but if it persists with the top sides not making the latter stages then the prestige will start to erode.
Not really, the best sides in Europe always used to find their way to the finals of this tournament in the early days of the CL after it changed from the European cup but what we’re seeing now is that the demands of modern football with the fixtures and the standard required to win leagues is too much to balance all comps now. So we’re seeing a lot of teams who can give up the league campaign going far in the CL. Doesn’t seem a fitting way for me to crown champions of Europe.

Shocks in a Cup Tournament? Well, I never. Inter Milan, Ajax, Porto, RS. Its not a new thing, whys it such an issue now?
You say 2nd Leg at home gives an unfair advantage. Well UTD knocked PSG out at Psg after being 2-0 down from the home Leg. Spurs V Ajax? SPURS V City, RS v Bayern, all 2nd legs away. The Italian League is a procession for Juve, they could fully concentrate on the Champs League and rest players, which they often did before CL games, Barca too. Barca rested their entire 11 in the lead up to both games v RS. The RS didnt/couldn't. Psg had their league won at Xmas! They all had just the Champs League to focus on. Didn't do them any good.

Well, perhaps the teams that we think are top sides, and have traditionally been top sides, are no longer top top sides. We all know about Reals woes, Bayern and their aging team, Barca and their over reliance on Messi, Juve are no great shakes from what I've seen. With the exception of City, can you tell me who are Europe's top sides? Because I honestly do t know.

Let's see if the 5 RS fans get binned.

Haha, good one. "Along with Merseyside police after thorough investigation, we weren't able to identify the suspects. Despite having their names and addresses."

I know it's bad to do it, but if someone else is willing to pay the stupid amount, then its hardly a crime, it could help feed a family for months, for example. But yeah, buying tickets ahead of other fans with the sole intention to make profit does look poorly on the club if they don't act.

They've all but engraved their name on the trophy, the six times scarves are probably being made as we speak... If Spurs can ruin it all then then the vitriol in the fall out will be spectacular. Everyone will be getting the blame and the hatred towards us will be unprecedented. I can't wait.
Have any chump had a 6 times European royalty tatt done yet?
