"The commission found two of 11 charges against him were proved - that the former Manchester City and Chelsea forward had instructed his brother Leon to bet on a possible move to Spanish side Sevilla FC, and that he had given him inside information. "

Daniel Sturridge: Former Liverpool striker banned for breaching betting rules

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is banned from playing football for two weeks and fined £75,000 for breaching betting rules.

  • Sturridge's uncle and agent Dean Sturridge was reported to have messaged the player on 12 January 2018, saying "stay out of squad... this Inter Milan (interest) is real". Daniel responded "Cool with me". Liverpool beat Manchester City 4-3 two days later without Sturridge - who was reportedly injured - in the squad.

We can all read. What's being questioned is why the article makes any mention of City and Chelsea. This event happened recently whilst he was at the RS. Other teams he played for do not need to be brought into his murky behaviour.

You’re looking for something that isn’t there.

It’s the same as “the striker - 28...” or whatever being inserted in almost every article written about a footballer.

It’s the sportswriter story writing school way.

It’s filler.

It’s not the biased bbc trying to subconsciously make you think those other clubs are responsible for his action.

It’s just so obviously blatant that it is truly laughable.
It simply defies logic.
