You seem pretty good at putting words in my mouth fella. Of course city are our rivals, they’re the best side in the league, they’re anyone who is trying to win the leagues rivals.

I reckon you have an inferiority complex pal.
You made me laugh. One thing to be clear about is that no Evertonian has an inferior complex about any other team.
There is more to a club than silver pots. Sure so would love a few more recent ones. But not if there is a moral price to pay x

"We have to pay the bills." lollollol

Klopp making it sound like they can't afford the leccy at Klanfield, when the reality is that last season they smashed the world record for a defender, spent 70m on a keeper and and another 100m on midfielders.

What a charlatan.

They have to keep their 'Net Spend' trophy.
Well, it is the only domestic trophy they can win!:celebrate:

They've signed some new kid with a man bun. He's taking Karius' place in the squad as the looks like a contestant on love Island bench option.

Maybe I’ve got it wrong, but I thought that fella was a city fan. He only ever seems to mention city, so I made the assumption.

That’s what my comment was based on. If he’s a blue, then the comment is redacted.

I’m not going to argue that it can’t happen - the United City change you mention proves it can, but that has taken epic swings in both directions.

Without the oil money city wouldn’t have swung up so far, and the mismanagement post Ferguson has meant uts swung further down.

We’re not immune to going backwards, it’s far from impossible that you’ll come upwards.

But a “power shift” as you put it will take much more than a stadium as you know.

Ive said already, i like it, I hope it happens and I can understand why you’re all so excited for the future.

I’m in no way trying to urinate on any chips. I’m just saying that from what I’ve seen, heard and read - and even more so my own opinion - is that reds aren’t seething or jealous about this.

Yep the stadium itself will not guarantee success however it will give us a hell of a bigger chance of bringing in the level of outside investment required to bridge the gap - Man Citys owners only bought them due to their stadium and were looking at a number of clubs including ourselves at the time.

I also think with increased revenue it allows our owners to invest more money into players without going against FFP which also helps bridge the gap as under Moshiri/USM money doesn't appear to be an issue its what we can afford to spend under the current rules that holds us back.

I agree with some of that, and agree City were bought because of the stadium, but the key difference is that theirs was free, while yours needs what? £600m?

Spurs and arsenal went quiet in the transfer market because of stadium costs. City didn’t have to.

As I say, a lot can happen in 4 years or so, but IF you lot are still finishing 7/8/9th then the new stadium won’t be a huge pull for players.

I’m not saying you will be, or that you won’t.

Noooooooo. That photo must have been photoshopped!
They never wanted or would have 'dirty oil money' from people who condone slavery.
No. No No. They are happy with the money from their main sponsor Standard Chartered
who were fined $1.1 billion (yes billion!) for money laundering that allegedly funded terrorism across the globe.
You know, the bank that facilitates Iran's ability to fund the Houthi rebels in Yemen who caused the famine by blockading
the Red Sea ports so that desperately needed food aid hasn't been able to get through. Liverpool FC - backing and taking
money from a proven criminal organisation since 2010 now extended to at least 2023.

Boom.

All it takes is one or two seasons in the top 4 and providing recruitment is done well you can make the step up - Spurs were not CL regulars now they are without massive expenditure heck even you lot went a good few years outside the top 4.

I also think the funding for the stadium wont have much an effect on our spending - Meis said revenue wasnt an issue with the owners when tasked with the design/size of the stadium and considering we've bid £52 million for Zaha and £36 million for Kean its nothing like Spurs/Arsenal who went a good 2-3 years without much of a spend.

Obviously that could all change but fingers crossed - as much as I've criticised Moshiri over certain things I trust him when he said money will never be an issue under his ownership which is a world apart from the dark times under Kenwright!

The main thing im looking forward to is that shiny new stadium shining Blue on the Liverpool Skyline with Everton glowing out onto the Mersey ;)
