ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I didn't say they couldn't win a close battle; it's just I don't trust them. I think Liverpool as a club have a far stronger elite club mentality.

See City's "achievements" in the Champions League for details.

I'm not sure the Champions League is relevant here.

I see one side who have won the league 3 times in the last 6/7 years recently and one that haven't in the entire premier league era.

City should surely have the mental edge here.

It's relevant as they still have a nouveau riche mentality rather than an established big club mentality in my view. The squad has all the talent in the world but when compared to Liverpool - who are almost delusional as an institution in that they believe it's their right to win competitions - then I simply don't think City have that same mental edge.

They obviously should win the league, but I simply don't trust them not to throw it away in a close fight.

They have a very good defence now though. Their terrible defence cost them in 2014. Only conceded 4 so far in the league this season and todays goal was caused by players who only started due to giving others a rest.

Another thing is they have so far only dropped points to Chelsea and Man City. Wereas City have dropped points against Wolves already. That what worries me about Liverpool. They're now beating the smaller sides. If todays game had been only year ago you just know they would have conceded another when ahead 2-1 with Karius or Mignolet cocking up. Don't get that sense anymore.

Exactly what cost them in 2014 in that Chelsea game and Crystanbul. A point was all they needed vs Chelsea and going after a 10-0 scoreline against Palace was borderline insane. They've a huge amount to prove in this regard, Liverpool. This isn't knockout competition where one big performance can win it.

Klopp deserves credit for this, certainly.

It's all well and good doing this in October, though. Arsenal used to do this every season and finish 4th.

Dont worry, blue.

Cliff Barnes will get a lot less near to winning the PL than Rodgers did.

They are fantastic, super, amazing, the best thing since sliced bread. If City win tomorrow they go ahead of the RS by virtue of a much better goal difference. However, they are fantastic, super, amazing, the best thing since sliced bread.

Wow.

Settle down again everyone:

Jurgen Klopp's last 15 competitions record - zero trophies.
