To pick up on your point about the media praising us when we did well in 13/14, the two stand out pieces from that season was a BT Sport special on the race for the top 4 that included 6 teams none of which were us even though we were in 4th at the time and finished 5th ahead of two of the teams in that feature. The other piece was Martin Samuel saying we had cheated because we had loaned players that we couldn’t afford (we then bought all the loan players in the next window). So I’m not sure the praise was overflowing for us.

As a premier league entity Liverpool are no more significant than Spurs or Everton for that matter by virtue of the fact they’ve been in it every season but never won it. Leicester are more important in PL terms. It therefore should follow that they should have a share of the media coverage that reflects this. Instead their media coverage absolutely dwarfs everyone else’s despite the fact that as I write this they’ve won 1 league cup in a decade and haven’t won the league in 30 years.

So no, it’s not because Klopp has splashed a bit of cash and got a few good lads up front running harder than usual that they’re getting a bit of press, they’ve built up an unbelievable propaganda machine that has now become self selecting and fulfilling. So Klopp with a PL record of 8th 4th 4th is declared a success whilst Pochettino 3rd 2nd 3rd isn’t. Liverpool are consistency talked about as prolific title contenders despite challenging properly once in 26 years of prem football. Their front three is dubbed the best in the world, even at one point being called better than Messi Suarez etc. despite no statistical evidence to back this up with whatsoever. Van Dijk has been called the best centreback in the premier league. He’s been there since January and his notable achievement so far is finishing 4th. It is pure delusion spouted over and over again by acolytes in the media until it’s set in place as the party line. Just the other week Sturridge scored in a Carabao cup game and there were articles about him being worth 50 million, should be recalled for England and when fit was better than Kane. It’s utter nonsense that turns every other set of fans against Liverpool (hence the national celebrations in 13/14 and Kiev). City got over 100 points last season and finished 20 ahead of Liverpool yet there were commentators suggesting that if Mane hadn’t got a red in that game the whole season could have been different. It beggars belief. You Kopites might finally win something if you could just shut up about how great you imagine yourselves to be for any period of time. It would certainly do everyone else a favour.
Bravo mate!

Deserves a standing ovation! ;)

Haha, brilliantly researched.

Absolutely spot on.

There's very clearly a media-driven incentive to hype them up to the title and their fans have proper bought into it since Klopp arrived. Be interesting to see how long he actually lasts if they carry on much longer with no pots won still.

See we are still trying to win the "moral high ground" cup, we would be better concentrating on our own team without the need to involve them in every conversation, every thread, every waking moment for some on here. All rather sad and was never like this before we had the anonymity of the internet and on other EFC forums its not like that.

It’s probably because other forums don’t have a load of Kopites frothing at the mouth, logging in to see what’s being said about them.

It’s almost like you’re offended.

*comes on a thread that’s about moaning about Liverpool fans weird behaviour*

“Stop criticising Liverpool boys”

Why should we? They’re freaks and they have bad pr nearly every week, if we don’t bring it up nobody will pal. Mainstream media won’t. Or if they do the story disappears after two minutes. Remember carragher Spitting in a kids face? Me neither. Same things gonna happen with Alexander-Arnold if the story ever comes out.

Leg it kopite

FFS, I just tuned into Radio Mersyside and heard "a concerned Kopite" warbling on for 5 to 10 minutes to Roger Philips. His target's were Tommy Fleetwood, the European Masters Tour scheduling committee and Hillside golf course. The crime: just now been announced that Fleetwood/Hillside have secured the British Masters for May next year. (A coup for the area apparently, not being a golf fan). The last day of the tournament is on the last day of the season though. The Kopite was complaining that Liverpool played Wolves on that day for a title decider or coronation and that the organisers should have knew this. "Millions of people will be pouring into the City of Liverpool", he said. "That's going to shut down the transport system and stretch M'side police to breaking point. Why cant Hillside move it, Roger'? Do these people ever do joined up thinking, Roger?"

Un-'kin-believable.

Yeah but the mentality of the mutants is to automatically involve EFC in any social meeja statement or any dumbass comment on a Red Echo article.

Bottom line is no deaths of opposition fans have ever been the responsibility of Everton supporters -

Throw yer morality high ground cup up yer hoop
