Even if they got banned from European competitions for five years because of something United/Arsenal/Spurs fans’ did in this year’s competition it wouldn’t make up for the injustice Everton Football Club suffered by their actions.

Regret? Humility? Apology?

Nah...a huge banner celebrating celebrating Steau success in a competition they got us banned from is what we got in their famous Kop. Banter? I’m too old now to even argue the finer pints of the rights and wrongs.

I know they all ain’t heavy and many are brothers, but tell you what, it’s some weight we’ve had to carry these years. Some lads I know who support them deserve that respect, many others don’t.

It is what it is.
 
First day back in work after the weekend.
I have a mate in work who's a red and normally a fairly level headed fella. Cautious about their chances heading in and even said to me "I don't mind if we lose, as long as they don't smash us by a big margin, it was a great achievement getting this far with our squad"

I'm not sure what type of red
Koolaid he's been drinking over the weekend, but he was in full blown kopite mode today.

You all know what I mean, normal guy under most circumstances, but mention Liverpool and their eyes glaze over as the kopite hive-mind takes over, they start talking with that ridiculous over-emphasised scouse accent and all the rhetoric comes spewing forth.

"It was a judo throw, lad! Ramos grabbed him"

"Actually, Salah grabbed Ramos first"

"did he f***! Can't stand the foreign players! Always diving and cheating other teams! We deserved to win that!"

"What about Suarez?"

"Lad, he just had 'passhun' yeno"

And so on and so forth!

He also had a great 5 minute rant about Ronaldo being just a 'pretty boy' who cares more about his looks. I mentioned Firminho and he buggered off for a smoke break lol

Sad really, I thought he had his head screwed on for a kopite ... that kopite hive-mind gets them all in the end, hey? :p

Greatest trick I ever pulled in work was making them think I’m proper “Merseyside” they think I wanted them to win even though they know I’m a blue, and they never say a word to me. It makes them so mad that I’m just norarrsed about them at all.

I hate them with all my might lol
 
Had a couple of them fuming today . Hitting me with " What have Everton 'kin won this season , eh "

The same amount of trophies as your lot , daft gets . Mentioned today's date " 29th of May 1985 mean anything to you ?"
Met with blank, confused stares . Mind you , they are quite young
 
The reason the defeat cut so deep is they know it won't happen again for the foreseeable. They had built themselves up so much, they were going to get number 6, doubling United's tally, taking them ahead of Munich and Barcelona, King Klopp was going to be coronated, the Kings of Europe were back.....until they crashed down to reality, miles behind the true elite, only within shouting distance due to a freak season from one player...they know they've been found out and that has manifested itself in rage, bitterness and tears.

Harsh reality: They've lost three of their last four EC finals...and only won the other one because Milan acted with unforgivable unprofessionalism for half a game. Their manager's a cup final bottler x6. They haven't won a title here in England for almost 30 years. They are a fake big club.

Read the same view on RAWK. Recognised they still had a long way to go to win another league title and that they’d take this years run to UCL Final as a great learning experience.

Going to reflect quietly on why it wasn’t this season. Even congratulated the winning side and offered their congratulations on their record winning achievement.

Offered quiet words of regret and remorse for those impacted by an avoidable tragedy that should never have occurred on the anniversary. Understood the virtues of humility and that how the celebration of the sport we love can bring people together.

Anyone else seen it? Me neither.
And they wonder why....
