ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

This lot won’t put up with another few weeks of the only competitions that matter being ones they’re not in, especially if City clean up in them. Already heard a view moaning that the cup and CL should now be cancelled. If they’re not in the limelight they hate it.

An all Manchester FA Cup Final to close the domestic season would definitely be the most newsworthy topic should it happen.

Not as likely but Man City winning 3 trophies for the second season in a row and/or both Manchester clubs winning the European competitions they are competing in would be huge.

I expect they'll be Pier Head style 'celebrations' after every home game they have to give them the attention they so desire. It won't be the good kind of attention though.

I trotted over to RAWK earlier, to see what all of those 'genuine Reds' would be saying about the Cape Canaveral scenes.

After about an hour of fruitless searching I gave up. It seems it mustn't have happened. There is magically no reference to it there whatsoever.

Oh, apart from one guy who asked whether the 'unconfirmed reports of a stabbing' were true, but he immediately got rounded on and told to keep his speculation to himself.

Still, at least I was able to enjoy the miraculous significance of the 96 minutes in the game. I tell you, I was all choked up... :coffee:

What do Everton fans think of this scouse not English stuff that lfc fans come out with? Is it just them over the park that think like that?

I have to say I grew up in Garston in south Liverpool and have never considered myself English.

And forty years spent following the Blues around England confirmed my opinion that we are a Celtic race trapped on the wrong side of both the Welsh border and the Irish Sea.

People from our city are the only people on earth now that may be insulted with stereotypical chants at footbsll matches.

The English in general despise the Scouse.

Though I must say a lot of that disdain is the result of RS antics over the years.

I have seen some great posts in the Everton Head Office thread, most notably @Kever10 @NathDogg and @Foot Long Hot Dog.

No doubt this week will see the usual get out clauses, those who caused trouble are not real Liverpool fans. Well what makes them not real Liverpool fans while the annoying TV clappers, band wagon jumpers and non-matchgoing office workers are?

Might I suggest any blue who is going have to deal with the usual antagonism from kopites this week respond in one way and one way only;

"If you wanna own your glory, own your shame"
