ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Whaddaya know? A heartfelt plea from St Jurgen of Klopp for fans to stay home. Y’know, ‘cause of health and that. He was a bit disappointed to see the large crowds at the Pier Head, apparently.

Strangely, no room to mention the stabbings, loosing of fireworks, jumping on police vans, mass brawls and pissing in doorways as “things he doesn’t love”. How odd.
I inderstand he's in a difficult place and he's had to choose and vet his words for fear of them, but it's highly unlikely he'd recieve fatwas off them around this time, rightfully grateful are they to him, but I agree.
It's hard not to like Klopp, he seems genuine, a counter to his cult. But he has used terms like solidarity, chosen topics like covid and passed off half of a plea for calm.
To offer a critique of what happened as only in relation to Covid, to them that's a support of the other actions. They are childlike, if they're not told it's wrong by 'daddy' they believe it's 'right'.
Klopp does the 'social' aspects of his role well, as long as he stays within cult parameters, but even to those outside the cult he seems genuine and affable, but I think he, as well as many others, come up short.
When condemnation was called for it's tiptoes and eggshells, because it's them.
I can't recall as yet seeing any comment from Steve Rotherham?
I would like to think Klopp was being restrained by the cult's PR department, I would like to think so...

Grasses, for circulating videos initially uploaded by their hilarious “Hahahaha look at us lad your heads fell off lol lol lol” fans?

If that makes us grasses, then...

That's what's so mad about these grass shouts, it's like it's their last bit of scouseness they can try to cling to, call everyone a grass, but the fact is, take those lads snorting off the bizzys hat, it's not people online sharing the video that are the grasses it's your mate who filmed you in the act because 'look how sick we are' then posts it online that is the real grass, he's the lad who's just shown all your mates, family, neighbours and work mates what you was up to, oh and also the bizzys haha

Kopites are uploading these videos so the World can see, with particular key words or hashtags in the captions. Merseyside Police are searching for key words/hashtags, viewing the videos and recording them (they employ people to do this)...

And it is Everton grasses laaaaaaa.

It is beyond thick. They've got no idea how this works. The police are going to pick up a fair few of them.

They have all the videos on social media, including where they are saying eachothers names. All of the videos handed in to them that haven't been uploaded. The police bodycam footage. And loads of CCTV, you know, because it was IN TOWN where they were attacking the Police.

"put your hands away you [Poor language removed] idiots" while thousands of fans are standing shoulder to shoulder? Nah, I don't buy it. He's as false as they come and just plays to the gallery (and cameras).

Their own manager has to put in an open letter, after theyve won the League, that he doesn't like the scenes they were making at the Pier Head.

Think about that.

I have thanks, I've alluded to it in my post, but it's still a nothing, hollow 'calm down' self centred self beatification.
What it appears to be isn't what it is. That cult don't have the ability to lift the covers and see the real shame it projects.

Lets get one thing straight right now. Its ok to "grass" on grown flecken men who commit arson causing tens of thousands of pounds worth of damage. Its ok to "grass" on scum who stab people. Its ok to "grass" on vermin who attack emergency services. Its ok to "grass" on the morons who put the safety of the general public at risk by congregating in thousands during pandemic. Its ok to "grass" on filth who behave like primates destroying the reputation of this city and leavening the actual place itself looking like a battle field.

In fact not only is it ok to "grass" on the little sewer rats who to do all those things, It's your responsibility as a grown adult and rational human-being to see that they're held accountable for their actions. These horrible sub-humans will never learn otherwise. I'm sorry (not really) if that doesn't conform to the juvenile way that some view the world and I'm sorry that they where dragged up and therefore understand the difference between "grassing" on say your brother for nicking the last mars bar and committing arson and attempted murder.

Well said, sir! Totally agree.

Interesting that’s it’s Klopp and not a statement from the club, as you would expect in these circumstances. I think it shows how bad (and quite rightly) the club was portrayed by its fans on Friday.
But to me the line ‘I didn’t love’ isn’t strong enough. Was it the crowds, fireworks, public disorder offences, clashes with the police he was referring to? No mention of what happened at Goodison. This is a token gesture by the club. Only Joe Anderson has publicly condemned the actions for what they were. Where is Steve Rotheram? Is he afraid of losing his seat at the next election? Why hasn’t he come out in the press?

For me, there is an issue in the fan-base because of the club, and the Club narrative itself. “This Means more”…”We are Liverpool” and the constant “We have the best fans in the world”, “ We are special”.

All these slogans and things from the club really make that group believe that they walk on water…. And can do no wrong….they genuinely believe those marketing slogans

It shows in every bad thing that happens….”It cant be one of ours….we are the best around…Klopp and club say so”.

Blaming society is a the easiest one….or “they are not true reds”.

Until they star to own these incidents, then it won’t EVER change.

You cant have a go at Klopp hete imo. He doesnt have to weite an open letter, he could have left a statement to the club. Or waited to be asked at the next conference, or ignored it completely.

I think he doesnt want to go in on the whole fanbase as it was after all just 2 or 3 firing fireworks (also dont think the stabbing has been officially confirmed - so he wont want to speak on that) but he is actually making a point here.

I applaud him for it to be honest, as I think he will be disgusted but doesnt want to lay into them.

What is interesting is the medium used. They could have put out a short video message on the club website along the lines of 'stop being c**tz, at least for 5 minutes.'
Instead, a letter to the Echo which i imagine will take pride of place on the front page of the paper today instead of images from Friday night, or any pictures of the arrested.
Its a necessary PR piece to alleviate some of the damage to brand LFC.

This is the biggest pile of crap I have seen in print, up there with the S*ns stuff about Hillsborough. Operation Hysel airbrush in full effect here peeps.

Firstly, I utterly resent that st jurgen has made this address to the people of Liverpool - the actions we witnessed over the weekend had noting to do with the people of Liverpool, it was your clubs wonderful supporters who this should have been addressed to. I do not need you to address me on any subject Mr Klopp, and especially how I should be behaving during a global health pandemic.

Also, why does Herr Klopp speak to Evertonians? He has no place speaking to us or referencing us and our club in any way, when speaking about his clubs supporters disgraceful actions and Everton FC should respond as such officially - I won't hold my breath as luvvie bill won't want to upset them any further.

This is nothing more than a glorified advert in PR for Liverpool FC - in fact, I don't even believe st jurgen had penned this heartfelt missive - as I have said on other threads, there is no such thing as a decent red, and I include friends and family in that.

The simple fact that I have seen no recognition or real condemnations of the vile actions of kopites at the pier head from any "decent" red leads me to this conclusion, and this propaganda bollox from Klopp merely further enables these "decent" kopites to carry on as they have been - gathering during a health crisis, destroying our city, attacking themselves, fighting with police and then in the aftermath, producing lie after lie, and despicably trying to blame a completely innocent evertonian across social media (then saying it was an accident when caught out ffs!). They should have called out and condemed everything that happened, including the untruths and lies that followed in the aftermath.

Should Herr Klopp be reading this (we know these tricky reds like to lurk on our forums) - I can appreciate your qualities as a football coach and I commend the teams you have managed and their performances on the field, but sadly, following this mealy mouthed, wishy washy, non condemning praise piece that you have put your name to for Liverpool FC, you are no better than the mindless murderers and any so called decent reds that you have the misfortune to represent - you are firmly embedded in the
kopite cult sadly, as you have missed a big opportunity to really affect the behaviour and future actions of your clubs fans, by not strongly condemning everything that has happenend and what respect I held for you, your club and it's fans continues to decrease by the second.

Enjoy your * title, I hope it was worth it.
