ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Roger Phillips is a snide red...even though he says he doesn't like football.

Is he? Didn’t know that. I like Roger Philips as he is one of the few decent presenters across the whole BBC. He’s a bit of a Royalist and a centrist but he does give lefties a fair hearing too.

Deflect. Lie. Blame. Deny.
The Kopite way

#KopitesNotScousers

This is why it keeps happening, there is no acountibility.
Main culprits for this are the RS media, your likes of Evans, King, Maddock & all the other ones.
They keep telling there readers that they are special, there is no one better than them, they are more than a club.
It makes them wanting to go bigger and better than anyone else.
You had Dominic King & Rory Smith at Anfield on Thursday sharing videos of it, enticing people to get out and celebrate
Simon Hughes at the Athletic did a podcast Friday morning called 'a bag full of flares and a crate of cans'! May aswell say 'come on lads, lets get out and party'
Maddock with his usual garbage as well.

All refused to acknowledge what was happening at the time, condemn it at all in fear of being ostracised and the narrative they spin being false!

Aslong as these people refuse to critisise there own, like SOS etc, things like this, the bus 'greeting' fighting with Sevilla, fountains will continue to happen!

What is interesting is the medium used. They could have put out a short video message on the club website along the lines of 'stop being c**tz, at least for 5 minutes.'
Instead, a letter to the Echo which i imagine will take pride of place on the front page of the paper today instead of images from Friday night, or any pictures of the arrested.
Its a necessary PR piece to alleviate some of the damage to brand LFC.

To be fair, it was mainly locals that was doing it, why tag Sven from Scandinavia or Giles from Surrey with the same brush? They havent done anything wrong, so they will not want to address to the further away folks of castle greyskull as it will kill the myth of them all being the best, most special, different fans out there

I usually work over in Hull, but working from home at the minute. Was in a meeting with about 10 of us before and at the end someone asked if the mayor was a blue because of his complaining about them. I asked if they had seen what had gone on and not one of them had seen a thing. How can incidents like that be completely air-brushed from main stream media?

100% mate they've seen it.

If they are active on fb or twitter it has been impossible not to have seen it or heard about it. They are in denial about it so won't mention it and will pretend nothing has happened

See no evil
Hear no evil
Speak no evil

From Liverpool or not, they support that club so they come under that banner.

If I saw a blue set fireworks at Anfield surrounded by other blues and families, I'd demand they got dropped like the sack they are.

They filmed it, cheered and celebrate the live buildings being vandalised. Sorry but no defence but all them out as what they are KN0BS.

I trotted over to RAWK earlier, to see what all of those 'genuine Reds' would be saying about the Cape Canaveral scenes.

After about an hour of fruitless searching I gave up. It seems it mustn't have happened. There is magically no reference to it there whatsoever.

Oh, apart from one guy who asked whether the 'unconfirmed reports of a stabbing' were true, but he immediately got rounded on and told to keep his speculation to himself.

Still, at least I was able to enjoy the miraculous significance of the 96 minutes in the game. I tell you, I was all choked up... :coffee:

There was a few condemning it over the weekend on the How are you celebrating thread
