ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

£££££££££££££££££££££££££££

They know the cult will go full on with buying merchandise to prove they’re boss fans at the parade, that’s all it is £££
Well, remember when they were taken over. They were considered to be "an interesting brand".
What else can be expected.

The Lad's Dad
@IanR_1970

Hang on, has it been proved that firework boy was an actual red before it's just accepted that Liverpool fans shot fireworks at the Liver building? Don't get me wrong, don't know why nobody stopped him but it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't even into football.

Don't know why nobody stopped THEM you gimp, they were forming queues.

I particularly like the reply, "You could do with losing 20 pounds never mind pence".
lol lol lol
That's reminded me of an old programme feature with the players, Southall was asked what job he'd like if he wasn't a footballer, he replied 'mersey tunnel booth operator', at the time there was a huge fraud going on involving hundreds of thousands of pounds, stashed under beds, boats bought etc
Bit savvy was our Nev.

20 pences add up over time.

An article by well-known Reds fan Tony Evans in the Independent.

I was going to highlight the deliberate errors, digs, plays on words in that mess of a piece, but I'm 56 so won't have time.
Absolute nonsense journalism.

Absolute bellend that Evans, still managed to get a dig in at Everton, cockwomble

The article is a bit long and in fairness he is critical of recent events defacing Dean’s statue.
But the section which catches the eye is this:

“It is understandable that Everton's lack of success in the past 25 years might have caused some hearts to harden towards their more successful neighbours. A small but unpleasant minority have come to blame the Heysel Stadium disaster - where 39 mainly Italian supporters died as a result of disorder by Liverpool fans at the 1985 European Cup final against Juventus - for their club falling on hard times. Everton were punished unfairly by the subsequent ban on English clubs competing in Europe but to attribute their decline to the tragedy does not make sense.”

I wouldn't be surprised if he was lurker on this very forum (hello Tony!)
and has picked up the sentiment of how you guys are feeling about Liverpool
these days. It makes for lazy journalism and an easy article / story.
It happens all of the time on Bluemoon (City Forum). A thread kicks off about
something and lo and behold a couple of days later an article in a national
newspaper appears about the exact same subject and contents.
As I say lazy, easy and very predictable. But that is Tony in a nutshell...

I take consolation from the fact that, from personal experience, he'll have got a paid a sum best described as "derisory"

*disorder - as in cold blooded mass murder.... they will be forever in denial and the media machine will protect them.
