ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Umm, yeah, when ferguson said that it's because the RS were top of the pile, so he knocked them off the top. What have the RS knocked united off? Nothing, they've drawn level with them, also gerrard is still sat at home with no title. That's like saying iwobi deserves 9 league winners medals because he plays for us. 12 year old kids are writing racist things on twitter mainly because they read stuff written by thick degenerates like this.
How can they have drawn level when they are still one behind United?

I've always disliked the echo ( although I haven't had a hard copy since I was forced away from the area by my parents ) and I tried to ignore their obvious bias but after they left the Dixie Dean flare story off their pages for over 24 hours after it happened ( even after national sites like BBC reported it ) I won't ever forgive them.
I hope all the staff get jobs in a superior rag but I wouldn't cry at all if this red rag dies .

I see the dirt rag Liverpool Echo are in trouble financially, seen a few posts about it on social media today, the one from the food banks guys has a lot of good comments from blues.

Zero sympathy for the echo as a corporation. Obviously sad that people might lose jobs but only those working in the non sports sections. The coverage of Everton has been a disgrace. What other publication would actively try and alienate at least 50% of its readership with partisan nonsense? They ran a #tellAli a few years ago and the overwhelming feedback was that they didn’t cover Everton fairly. His response was that the readers were wrong, he made blunting Kristan Walsh the Everton correspondent and then wrote a load of articles about how Martinez’s 11th placed finished was actually where Everton deserved to be. They’ve dug their own grave here.

My thoughts on the Echo's plight.

*Echo lurkers - sharpen your poisoned crayolas and make the most of your limited time....

The Echo's plight is part of a wider malaise in local journalism in Britain. If I look in Ghent, where I live, we have 3 local daily newspapers based in a city of 250,000. They aren't printing gossip and clickbait, they do serious journalism and in depth reporting on local politics and issues as well as reflective pieces on national and international stories.

Compare that to the Echo who treat their readers like idiots, copy and paste tweets from celebrities as not only quotes but as actual stories, never hold their local representatives to account and who's entire business model is to pitch at a certain football club's fans. They also have the worst website known to man.

The dark web is more accessible than their site....

*so i've been told.

like any business, the bad ones will die and leave space for ones which can actually meet the needs of the people. Hopefully lessons will be learned and something better will emerge but due to the proliferation of Liverpool fans there it probably won’t. Their club is the only thing of importance to them and they can’t understand why the rest of the world wouldn’t be interested, thus they’ve automatically limited their readership to a group that isn’t big enough to sustain it.

I’ll never forget their front page specials and extended 10 pages specials over Hicks & Gillette being the wrong owners for Liverpool and how they deserve better. Literally delved deep into the goings on at the club and made a massive deal about it.

Yet not once did they ever carry out an extensive journalistic report on Everton’s finances and Bill Kenwright’s lack of investment at the club. We were pretty much told to know our place, put up and shut up. Will also never forgive this rag for trying to convince Evertonians that moving to a new stadium in a soulless retail park in Kirkby would be a great move for the club. Imagine if it was the other way around.

Crap biased rag.

Remember when Rob Styles did something against Liverpool in a league game once which upset them and the next day the Echo literally had it as their front page story with styles face photoshopped as a clown?

The whole idea of being Big Red's in house propaganda wing is so flawed as to be comical. Nobody outside the city, where the vast majority of their fanbase is located, has ever heard of the Echo and certainly aren't going to their godawful website for information about goings on at Liverpool Football Club. You are building a business on luring Norwegians and Americans to the worst website on earth to read about their favourite football brand in the age of social media.
