ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The Shankly Hotel and the E*h* have weighed in on social media with their 'nothing to see here guv' stories; M'side Police have avoided all mention of the establishment in their tweet; all we need now is for Barry Glendenning to sanction this as lads ending their lockdown purgatory.

WTF is going on in this town letting that lot run riot without any serious attempt to shame them and lock them up?

Had this forwarded to me. Probably originated from Facebook or twitter or whatever platform hipsters use now. So apologies if you've seen it.

The Millwall/Roma fan references are a bit crass but otherwise some shameful reminders of that Clubs past and present.

One gave the other a football stadium.

The other have started a partition to stop the other building a state of the art stadium creating thousands of jobs and income for the City.

One has respected the others statues for many years and even stood side by side with them during their fights for justice.

The other celebrate their successes by pissing on the statue of the greatest goal scorer to play the game and set a building that means so much to every scouser just because it’s owned by Bills billionaires

One evicts two old ladies from there Kemlyn road homes to build a stand. The other buys a street to home the homeless.

One laughs and mocks their rivals for considering moving to Kirkby, then moves their whole operation there years later.

Ones goalkeeper makes a massive mistake to gift the game to their rivals in an evenly fought game where no one deserved to win. That goalie is greeted the following game by 40,000 fans chanting his name.

The other who’s motto states never walk alone left the keeper alone on the pitch to take blame for a defeat in a match they were always going to lose. Death threats to him followed.

Ones fans did something no1 else had dared do before and went to Millwall and give them a hiding in their own back yard.

The others videoed 10 skinny Italians bounce down to the kop and stood while one of their own was dying on the floor after being attacked.

One once took 14 fans to west ham for a match in London. The other took 4000 to Cyprus in December to watch their already knocked out team field a youth team. They also took 10,000+ to Lille for a group game.

At Ewood park one fan was asked a question by a steward. The question was simply how are you and them from the same city, they where horrible last week.

One intended to fairlough staff who have served the club for years but have spent nearly a million quid to make a stage.

The others players volunteered to take pay cuts.

It could go on and on and on but the fact will remain the same.

One of them lifted the PL trophy this week in a empty ground.

The other is the PRIDE OF MERSEYSIDE

Great post, that.

I’m not going to get into a row over it. I made the point I wanted to and should have stopped there. The lad I was replying to initially said it was fair, that was the end of it.

I overreacted at your reply, so I’ll hold my hands up, I just honestly get irritated seeing hillsborough used in conversation the way it was. I had family there that have never really got over it, and I know the hurt they have felt due to bells from all over the country having their banter.

I took umbrage at your use of the term “that’s funny” to a topic that I don’t find funny but if I hadn’t only just made the reply I had, I’d not have said anything or certainly reacted as I did. I’m sorry for that. I should know better.
No problem. I’m sure you realise the word funny meant peculiar. Nobody thinks Hillsborough was funny (in the haha way) on here.

How can a set of fans be so dismissive of breaking the current rules on mass gathering and social distancing plus launching fireworks at the Liver building, yet get so angry and defensive over something as minor as Frank Lampard having the temerity to stand up to Klopp?

Glad someone else noticed this - they are incredibly thin skinned - like unbelievably. They seek out and attack anyone who has the temerity to call them out. Bad set of whoppers
