ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

your new CEO is mr Nike, your club has already been through a court case between New balance and Nike, just as Nike launch their new kit for your team you announce a few days after that you’re signing up with Adidas. Very very odd behaviour, and the sort of uncoordinated gaffe we’d normally do.

Yes all of that. With us it would just be a gaffe. They are generally a lot more coordinated though. I suspect with the CEO leaving, and Adidas being a German company it has fallen through the cracks. It's a great coup for Adidas though.

If you're Nike you're living though. Especially with it being announced almost on the same day you launch the adverts for the kit.

I see online that the Echo is only just publicising the drunken mayhem caused by them in Woolton Village after they won the Premiership. You could have expected the usually gabby ex Public Health guru Prof John Ashton - ex Woolton Village preservation commentator and critic of poor social distancing - to have laid into them and his son too given he is now our Director of Public Health here. Then again, they are both rabid RS so not a murmur.

I watched that channel 4 thing on Klopp. Has to be admitted that hes an interesting fella. Defo has the charisma of cult leader and tbh he gets success everywhere.

I did think that as the Echo were publicising it. If you're Nike you're not happy. Klopp is very marketable and is probably their most saleable asset.

For Klopp he must know it makes things more complex when he does something like that?

Mourinho has a contract with Adidas too.

Nike sponsor spurs as well. Means they will wear Adidas gear when not doing club stuff and probably Adidas trainees. Klopp is a tracksuit manager so it will be curious to see if he wears the Nike Liverpool trackie or his own Adidas brand on the touchline.

Obviously all this is common for players. New for management though apart from Jose.

I'm sure it's more common than we think. However Nike have spent a lot getting the deal done, and youd be very disappointed if the manager endorses your main (and let's face it better) rivals, particularly on the day they announce the deal.

If I were Liverpool CEO I wouldnt have allowed it.
