ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Tragedy strikes LFC once again as Thiago joins King Kenny in the No Symptoms club. God bless him in his fight against feeling all right and watching the telly for a few days.

Damn you, 2020! How much more can you throw at these Cadillacs of Men???

he’ll be back conveniently after the international break. A quick intensive 3 week doping course and he’ll be up to pace with everyone else.

I just hope we don’t find a way to shat the bed when we play them and find a way to derail our season.

If they play like they did v Arsenal there’s going to be nothing us or anyone else will be able to do about it. Arsenal could barely get on the ball and pretty much got bossed for 95 minutes. People say it’s because Arsenal were rubbish but they’d been playing well and didn’t actually play that bad. Liverpool’s running and fitness is just a different league to anyone else in Europe at the moment though. Robertson and Mane are unnaturally fast and our right side will be Rodriguez floating infield and Seamus Coleman. We’ll have to sit deep against them but if they play to that pace it will be damage limitation for us. People don’t want to hear that but you’d have to be prime Barcelona to deal with that kind of doped up performance levels. They had a period straight after lockdown when they looked human and against Leeds but they seem to be straight back on the juice now. Let’s hope that was a one off but if they are back at that level it’s a level that’s seem them barely drop a point in close to two years in the league and got to two CL finals in a row.

Its right worry and no mistake

Will be??

Yes. If there's a lot of fatalities in this second wave then football carrying on in the face of that is an insult. Scarce resources handed over to that lot and pulling people into places to watch televised games facilitating transmission would be crass.

Really good post & make no mistake Carlo will have a plan and has been as successful as any other manager against Klopp over the last few years which is a massive positive. Down our right a real worry & I think there will be a special brief there for either Dacoure or Richarlison to offer some extra support.

One your general point on fitness and lockdown, it was suggested on here (apologies cant remember who) a few months ago that they took the decision to essentially go through the motions with post restart, with all of their fitness planning engineered towards this season rather than the last 8 games of last. If that is correct & they have it right, ventolin or not they will be miles ahead of the competition

Not like you to miss the point. Footballs been in disrepute for years

If the 2nd wave takes off then football players will be affected pro rata.
The clubs know this, which is why they're voting on what happens if it gets cancelled @ 40% completed, 50, 60, 66% etc completed
iirc, @ 70% everything will be decided 'as it stands'
Champions, CL, relegation

I think that suggestion got widely refuted, bot least from LFC fans as they wanted to break the record. They kept playing their best team to the end. Unfortunately they just weren't good enough.
