Today has changed that though. Even by their recent standards, this was something else. Two of our star players out with long term injuries. If you don't think Ancelotti has sent his players out there with the explicit message to cause such injuries you're incredibly naive. He's been around long enough and managed enough players to know about the games dark arts.

And they veer between wanting the offside rule changed to retroactively award that as a goal, or just abolish VAR altogether. You couldn't make it up

VAR is the problem though when it comes to offsides.

It's not like a Hawkeye system in tennis. So VAR doesn't work if you are allowing someone on a computer to put lines in. These lines can be bent.

VAR works for replays and unless it's a clear offside it shouldn't be used.

I've got a kopite on one of my whatsapp groups. Kept messaging him to congratulate his team on a plucky performance against the league leaders and how he must be delighted with a point. He kept crying about var and how we haven't beaten them for 10 years. Just kept congratulating him on his plucky point against the league leaders.
