ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

What is funnier is the fact that if anyone mentions the BBC text from the opening few minutes about VVD clattering into people they say it is part of the game yet a clumsy challenge by Pickford is deliberate assault and he needs charging by Police/FA/Mr Tumble etc...

Nobody on here (apart from the wind up merchants) has said Pickford didn't deserve a red for the challenge, it was bad and we have all admitted it but none of us are surprised as he is a liability. The fact the guy on the end of it got injured and it could be serious is unfortunate but it wasn't deliberate as Pickford isn't intelligent enough to do stuff like that deliberately.

Now surely this is a wind up? Please tell me it’s Chico or someone. Can you imagine phoning the bizzies ‘I’d like to report an assault....yeah so right there’s this goalkeeper right and Virgil, the best defender in de werld and and and he....’
Remember though - when the chief constable is a RS nothing can be off the table.

You can debate this all you want.

However what's the better result? Us beating them and giving them a chance to take the Mick out of us for beating them for the first time in TEN YEARS.

Or having them cry arse at the result for days after because we were snidey enough to injure their best player and Rob them of a win.

Pickford does exactly the same manoeuvre when he comes out and blocks Manes shot in the 2nd half.

Guess what the commentators say.......

Great save.

Every keeper comes out and blocks in the same manner. It's very rare that a player gets caught the way dicky boy did but it happens.

It's mistimed and is a bad, bad tackle. There's no malicious intent there, but is foul play.

But he makes himself big, which is what goalkeepers need to do, but make no mistake it was a terrible foul. Even the best can make a bad challenge.

Not denying it's mistimed mate, just saying every keeper in the league does similar week in week out where they rush out and make themselves as big as possible and when that happens they are very rarely in control of where their limbs are flying.

His legs position are exactly the same when he blocks a Mane effort. Only difference being Mane is on the move whilst dicky boy is static so gets clattered.
