Andy Hunter at the Guardian is fast becoming my number 1 hated Kopite hack. His coverage of the derby fell to Pearce standards. He's always looked to add to the turmoil at Everton in recent years.

The aloofness is absolutely off the charts, incredible stuff. Apparently it's our fault and ours alone that there's so much growing resentment between the fanbases and apparently (as mentioned above) they all always used to stick up for little old Everton whenever an outsider spoke badly of us, but no more!

yeah very much a time will tell, only my speculation. I would argue, city didnt miss laporte that much last season, but losing Fernandinho out of midfield to cover for him was the major blow.

There's certainly an argument that VVD is a bigger miss, but I do think Laporte was a big miss. Like VVD he put out a lot of fires and papered over a lot of cracks. A bit like Liverpool this season, City last had a lot of players coming up to and the wrong side of 30. It started to show on the intensity and injuries strted to creep in.

I was going to state, I called Pearce your nickname for him "posh boy Pearce" and he bit back, stating he wasn't posh. That made me laugh, he's obviously a bit sensitive on that one, so I think I'll be keeping that nickname for him.
