ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

From the BBC:

Liverpool's home fixture against Tottenham will be the only midweek match to feature fans, because the city remains in tier two. The Reds, Everton, Brighton and Southampton are the only top-flight clubs that can allow up to 2,000 spectators, as it stands.

They could have written.

But why waste an opportunity. Surprised that they didn't add that Hendo and Trent are pleased that their fans will be in attendance.

Doesn't it end up like that with all their managers? The classic being their neglect of Bill Shankly after all he'd done for them, we adopted Bill and he used to get a great reception from blues as ha attended most of our games in the late 70s as he was barred from Analfield.
Sung by the Street End to Shanks when he started sitting in the directors box, "Hey rock and roll, Shankly's on the dole.

I always found Joe Fagan to be the best of them ally very genuine, honest and at times witty bloke, who would even credit the opposition if they had turned Liverpool over, anyhow RIP Gerard.
True this, I lived on Utting Avenue just down from the junction of Priory Road for many years and saw Joe Fagan many times and he was a gentleman. No matter who you supported, he was a nice man. In the same way that Howard Kendall was, proper old school men and managers who you respected. When I saw Joe out on foot, often by the post box on the end of Priory Road I'd say "Morning Mr. Fagan" and he'd say "Morning lad, call me Joe".
I had a drink more than once with Howard Kendall in Southport too, the first time was in a drinker/restaurant that was way too posh for the likes of me on an Xmas do, must've been about 1996/7 time. Never been there before and needed a slash "excuse me Mr. Kendall, where's the bogs in here?" "Just up there son".
Came back, had a pint and a gab with him, "call me Howard mate, no need for Mr. Kendall".
Lovely men, football men, before all this "don't you know who I am? Don't interrupt my day/night out" cobblers.

Tell you another thing, Joe Fagan had hands like shovels mind and Howard liked a pint of either Ale or Brown with a chaser. I'm not very sophisticated in my tastes as a drinker, certainly wasn't then and I only drank Newcastle Brown or Exhibition or the equivalent, I blame it watching too much Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Howard had a pint of whatever I had x about 3 with a cheeky Whiskey to wash it down. One of the most pleasant afternoon's I ever spent.
And Mr. Kendall more than bought his round.

Another stained season that should be marked with an asterisk
Everton fan or not, I’m not comfortable with the huge advantage we have over others. If we‘re lucky enough to win this cup I’ll expect it to be marked with a *

Good morning Scouse reds, all 5000 of you

There was always skulduggery surrounding their season tickets. Probably sold on to the highest bidder on the waiting list.
I'm sure they sold a load to Thomas Cook, I know for a fact there have been European games and season ticket holders have been told there seat was sold before they even had a chance to buy it themselves. Blocks of 50 to certain companies, that kind of thing.

Leipzig would be favourites against them IMO.

Ideally I;d prefer them to get to the QFs and be knocked out in order they open themselves to more injuries. The more games they play the more it'll happen. I can see Liverpool jumping out of the FA Cup early this season too.
In that case the RS will be praying they don’t get us in the next round.
