ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I’m somewhat impressed they’re missing all their center backs and still not conceding a couple more goals.

If we had to start Pennington and another youth teamer we’d be conceding 3 goals a game...

As others have said, it reflects poorly on the league that they can play the way they are and still be three points clear so early on.

City should have hit 3 or 4 against them, Fulham the same, Spurs the same. It’s not good defending when you give up one on ones every match but opposition players can’t hit the target under no pressure. Villa showed what a team who doesn’t fall to pieces whenever they’re in front of goal can do to them. Even we put away our main chances against them. Maupay De Bruyne and Jorginho couldn’t even hit the goal from the penalty spot. Embarrassing.

Spurs missed 3 gilt edged chances last night. Their defence was poor and should have been punished.
Anyone who thinks this Liverpool team are operating at a level anywhere near either they themselves or City have been operating on for the last three seasons are clueless about football. These are the dregs of that side Klopp put together. They are running on fumes. The worst thing for us is that we have no dominant team in the PL who goes out and claims the title ahead of them. A team that senses its destiny and has the players to go out and demolish all opposition. In that scenario even a Liverpool team clearly showing the signs of being beyond peak season can snatch another title.

It's maddening.

Just a quick thought on VAR last night

That match could have been destroyed by VAR last night. Could have had 5 mins looking at Dier handball, same for the offside & the henderson shove for their 2nd goal.

Instead VAR managed to keep it's oar out & the offside was one line on the pitch; "looks ok so get on with it"

Hopefully it's a sign of a less involved VAR approach.

Another absolutely deluded RS in one of the replies: (saying that though, it's that deluded it has to be a wind - up, right?)

We have the two best centre backs in the premier league injured, the best creative midfielder in the premier league injured (Keita) arguably the best attacking player in the world injured (jota) Mourinho needs to shut his trap
To be fair every one of their players is the best in the world in their own position. God knows how they lost to relegated Watford.
