ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I do not like the references to "they had a goal disallowed".

If it was disallowed then it was not a goal.

Typical echo wording. It's like their headline: "Truth about VAR could cost Liverpool dearly in Premier League title race"
What do they mean by "Truth about VAR" I'm going with their meaning being 'VAR have got all the decisions against the RS wrong because they want to stop them winning the league.'

I remember juninhos introduction to English football on a bone hard Goodison pitch too ;) lol

Remember when they signed and they had a clip of him looking at a map with Des Lynam saying, "Juninho's has found Middlesbrough on the map. And he's still coming."

Cold that day at Goodison though, remember he got the old "waste of money" chant within about 5 minutes ha.

There’s too many of these sorts of metrics that the two clubs seem to be at polar opposites on when really the league positions have never dictated that. Penalties is another one. Liverpool are often receiving the most, or very close to the most, penalties in a season whereas we don’t receive a middling amount, we’re often getting the least or every near it. There’s no good reason that two clubs currently in the top 4 should be at opposite ends of these type of stats this season but again we seem to be.

One thing that shocked me was the RS have had the same amount of penalties given against them (five) than they've had given for them this season.

I wonder how many weren't initially given? I remember the Brighton one not being given until VAR got involved.

Can't remember any others though.
I think they aren't getting refs favour anymore. Last year them winning the pl was a huge story so the pl wanted to keep it going as it got all the international market tuning in every week. If they run away with it again the league becomes boring and looses viewing figures hence why refs are being harsher on them

They are clearly not getting the amount of calls or 'the rub of green' that they got last season.
That now seems to be happening for United. Funny that eh?
Liverpool win the title. United win the title - what could be better for the Premier League / SKY TV business model?

if only we could ask the impartial tv pundits like:
souness
carragher
murphy
barnes
owen
lawrenson
aldridge
hamman
mellor
mcmannaman
Rednap
james
beglin
thompson

and we'd get the result that Richarlison goes down too easily
The worrying thing is that the list of liverpool biased pundits is expanding exponentially

David meyler is a Liverpool fan and I believe he has been doing some punditry in his native Ireland

What they also choose to forget and not mention is the amount of VAR calls against other teams last season that helped Liverpool.
Some of the VAR calls against City were an absolute joke! Last season was the most corrupt competition ever. I am not just
saying that because Liverpool won it either. The amount of calls they got in their favour was off the scale.

Ho ho ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - oh dear lord my poor ribs....

My other half just showed this to me on the RS Daily Bugle aka The Echo... even she roared with laughter

Although i have never been to Anfield, and with underlying health issues likely never will, I must offer my sympathies to all those lucky 2000 fans that will no longer be able to represent us at the Kop End for tonight's game against Newcastle. Hopefully we will be allowed back for the derby against United.
