ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Just a reminder that hard done-by fc once advised "job opportunities" (where staff would be paid bellow minimum wage I might add) to work as stewards for a league title victory parade, all before they'd even won the thing and Stevie Me slipped on his arse.............. :coffee: View attachment 125682

I remember after the title was gone an Everton fan phoned asking if they were still looking for people for this. lol

Keiran and Kookookachoo would have been all over that. Perhaps it was his/ their agency hiring?

Reading the last few pages about the prospects of the RS going into financial meltdown is giving me warm fuzzy feeling all over. The idea that the Devil might finally be calling in his deal with [Phrase removed] Rovers whilst we get a beautiful new stadium is almost too beautiful to hope for.
But them being Beelzebub's f#ck buddy, they'll probably come up smelling of roses. All clever financial analysis and accountancy on these pages never takes into account that Liverpool are the turd that won't flush. A particularly nasty, sweetcorn encrusted turd that damaged your ring after an hour on the bog straining. And then won't do the decent thing and sod off down the u-bend.
Another post to add to the classics of GOT

They actually booked the open top coach as well that season lol

@number4. Seems very buddy with Liverpool players. First name terms!!! Classic giveaway of an undercover red

Similar to city last year, the injuries to laporte & Van Dijk are a massive problem because they pulled Fernandinho and Fabinho out of position to cover, that was city's bigger problem than losing laporte last season.

Liverpool desperately need Matip and Gomez to settle down as a two, but that just seems unlikely, Matip appears to be broken, I dont think he has ever had a sustained run of games with out picking up something.

The welsh right back williams looks decent cover for trent,

Salah seems the real problem.
Looks not arsed to be honest, thought Thiago, mane and Trent AA looked very sharp.
They are in desperate need of being able to mix it up

Good mates with “Gini” as well!!!

Yes and Gini Winjaldum was also on the bench and they lost Andy Robertson to injury early enough in the game I think; but for it's a completely different discussion - the 3-0 at the nou camp was a weird one, Liverpool played very well and it was simply one of those messi days where he was simply unplayable, but in terms of the game itself it was very 50/50 despite score line.

This time round Liverpool return to an empty anfield, where they are not scoring & are not "in the habit" of winning against a team who completely dominated them pretty much from start to finish. I dont think you will ever see a situation where 8+ players individually underperform as badly as they did in Madrid & Klopp wont get things so desperately wrong, but I give them less of a hope now than they had Vs Barca despite the away goal

Just on this point, a player leaving for nothing has to be put into the context of the contracts they havent been offered. It's not specific to LFC, but a general consideration.

If you look a Wijnaldum for example; signed almost 5 years ago on a 5 year deal at a reported 60k PW (some sites say 40k some say 90k). They could have offered him a new deal in 2018 for another 5 years, but the kicker would be he wants parity (reasonable request) with Jordan Henderson who is on circa 150kPW (again varying reports)

So if you ladder that up in terms of 5 year outlay, that's an incremental increase for three years of 90k + 2 years @150k, totaling just over £31 million in outlay.

My point is not about Gini Wijnaldum specifically, but more the idea of a player leaving on a free is not always a case of financial mismanagement, but sometimes a prudent way of extruding max value from a player

Define value? - the abu dhabi project is a sportswashing exercise; the value is in giving global validation to an arab state. In football terms there is no bigger stamp than signing messi - it would be the coup they crave desperately.

‘Sportswashing’ ‘Abu Dhabi’, over aversion to Man City for no good reason? These are the tell tale signs of a wild Kopite hiding in an unnatural habitat.

@number4. Was absolutely determined that we should go for Benitez as our next manager.

Extract below from the “Would you take Moyes thread?”

“every ounce of humble pie needs to be swallowed here and the club needs to try everything they can to get Benitez. He is the right man to build a sustainable success over 5 + years, challenging the board and still seems capable of spotting real talent”

Go ahead and have your bullying pile on if you feel you need it. The irony on a forum that brilliantly has a mental health thread pinned, talking about a club which has amazing outreach programs and EitC. The club would be ashamed of a few (very small) of you. The majority are absolutely sound

I have been entirely clear on my Everton support, allegiances since day one here and because I have argued against grain of the echochamber three times, I must be a red, despite trying to provide a case of logic to each of them & each time, my predictions going on to be proved correct. Funny that

My reason for more posts outside of the Everton pages is simply there is more debate, its not an echochamber, whether it be on rules, general football , finance or other clubs. Anyone suggesting I must be a red for posting in the Liverpool thread should be reminded it has almost 3,000 pages so I suspect you can make that case against almost anyone here.

All the best decent fellow blues

Playing the victim / faux outrage. Absolute Koppite behavior.
