ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

@number4. Was absolutely determined that we should go for Benitez as our next manager.

Extract below from the “Would you take Moyes thread?”

“every ounce of humble pie needs to be swallowed here and the club needs to try everything they can to get Benitez. He is the right man to build a sustainable success over 5 + years, challenging the board and still seems capable of spotting real talent”
I may only be a small town lawyer but only Geordies and rs want anything to do with the fat Spanish waiter.

An admission of guilt?
Yes - you've got me, rumbled. I set-up a login with a username based on an unclaimed kit number incase a player signed and took it up that number a few years later.

Listen to yourself lad

A penchant for supporting scabs in defence of no punishment?
Ethically for sure the broke it Lob - but technically I dont think they did.

They havent played in the competition so that rules through one route; the clubs said they will seek permission of the PL and the PL said (today) they intend to vote down this request.

As I said earlier - throw the book at them, but rule 9 is going to cut it

The imaginary whataboutism of bringing poor blameless Everton into the same realm of greedy corpulence as the rs?
It's one hell of a rabbit hole Chris & all I am going to say is the wealth wouldnt be there to redistribute.

There has to be a far more equitable share in football - but the idea of asking these people to take all the risk (not just the 6, but Moshiri as well) yet redistribute isnt fit for purpose either
Works in the media and who infests that but rs.
I have not hidden from day 1 here that I work in that industry - I was very very clear about that in the Restart debate
This is from a quick check of recent posts from the accused. Unsavoury and sets the scene of rs infiltration.

Do we have to dig deeper m'lud?

Then there we had his shenanigans in the stadium thread where he constantly tried to downplay our ability to get the stadium deal done.

As we all know kopite slugs are absolutely fuming that we are getting an amazing state of the art iconic stadium on the Liverpool waterfront.

100% agree - but this just seems to be the other way round & time getting the better of them.

By the time finance was in place for 250m, stadium was going to cost 450m and so on. We are now left with a stunning drawing of an unaffordable pipedream & god knows how much in architect, consultancy and other expert fees

Or they continue with the pipedream through the planning process, while looking down the back of the couch for some extra spare change

The prosecution rests!

Really good post & make no mistake Carlo will have a plan and has been as successful as any other manager against Klopp over the last few years which is a massive positive. Down our right a real worry & I think there will be a special brief there for either Dacoure or Richarlison to offer some extra support.

One your general point on fitness and lockdown, it was suggested on here (apologies cant remember who) a few months ago that they took the decision to essentially go through the motions with post restart, with all of their fitness planning engineered towards this season rather than the last 8 games of last. If that is correct & they have it right, ventolin or not they will be miles ahead of the competition

They have been awful post restart but still have 30 points from 15 games. Thats not going to be too far away from winning the league this season

Absolutely loves them!

And who can forget this piece of devils' advocacy in the Holgate-Firmino bustup:

"challange (taking the assumption he said nothing) for the FA is to ensure they don't hinder other players coming forward. I would imagine there is an all party statement being worked on. Also, do they charge Firmino for "Foul and abusive language" which creates a nightmare precedent or Holgate for shove"

Assuming Firmino said nothing when Holgate reacted like he'd been hit with a cattle prod? 'Nuff said, m'lud.

And he seems to know the inner workings of Ancelotti's mind and motivation:

"CB - Highly unlikely he is a five year manager; never mind a five year's to develop a squad before he takes it on to compete. This my core question about CA & his appointment. He is a great manager, but not a long terms one. We need a long term commitment and he might not be the answer to that."

Cntradicting his stance that five subs wouldn't help teams with bigger squads:

"I think it will probably be a bit higher. Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and City all look good and I think once everyone moves to twice a week you will see the larger squads pull away from the field and I wouldnt be surprised to see any or all of those teams get 30 plus from 36 points Dec - Jan. That will set up a high return."

And this little gem of insight on the financial workings at Anfield:

"The only conciliation here (and it's slight) is the business model was perfectly set-up to sell one of the three (Mane et al) for an absolute fortune and re-invest; which would have made them better for longer. This might slow them and tempt him (Klopp) away medium term."

I havent validated them mate but they are provided by 21stclub, a sports data consultancy offering insights to clubs as well as media (according to their blurb) - their site looks interesting.

I have no reason to doubt, not the time to double check. that's what i based the initial numbers on; skysports also showed a similar chart, which showed days per team and it told a very very similar story.

Either way, it doesnt change the point that these are probably self inflicted wounds.

Making the case for Liverpool’s injuries and that blag injury chart they had.
