ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They only didn’t like the super league as it incurred a negative media reaction for them. If the media had supported it every one of them would have been all over it, they had no issues from a moral stand point on the good of the game in England. If they thought it would give them some bragging rights and media limelight they would have sold their grandmothers to join. That’s why their protests were pitiful because they actually weren’t against it. Same with their pundits like Carragher, he didn’t use his platform like Neville to condemn the super league, he used it to ensure that critics couldn’t have a pop at Liverpool ‘it’s the owners not the players or fans, remember Everton were part of it in 1992’ pure partisan hysterics reaction. That’s where most of their fans sat.

Airbrushing of Heysel - no protest
Suarez’s racism - no protest
Anfield residents run out their homes - no protest
Staff furloughed - no protest
Super league - barely a gathering

When Hick’s and Gillette stopped spending barely a few years after a title challenge and CL final - mass fan mobilisation

There’ll be more noise next season if FSG haven’t put them back at the top than there was when they tried to destroy English football.

“Dear Mr Hicks” when they didn’t give Rafael another £30m to spend on a shiny new striker.

Some interesting comparative analysis from RAWK:

Compare the reaction of 'coach gate' where one [Poor language removed] was a [Poor language removed]. Compare the reaction of the Liver Building where one [Poor language removed] was a [Poor language removed] - the entire fanbase was blamed.

I could have sworn there was more than one [Poor language removed] Liverpool fan acting like a [Poor language removed] at those events.

I mean there are different videos of about 8 people firing at the buildings while everyone else cheered.

The party line has gone out that peaceful protest is now wrong if it disrupts anything. These people genuinely dont have a clue. They're the equivalent of your average gammon going purple when Extinction Rebellion bloke his route to work by peacefully protesting. Above all else it's actually quite funny to watch how apopletic with rage they are. Doubly so as the hole football world, including Jamie Carragher saluted the actions of the brave protestors yesterday.

Suddenly their stupid gimmicks of being against modern football, while secretly supporting the Tory line of wanting to stop protest has been wholly shown up again.
In short: they have no identity now.

They are not the supporters of a team of champions
They are not fans who have a spurious image of 'social intervention'

They are nothing.

Their fans genuinely think as well that because Klopp and ‘Hendo’ have come out supporting the owners, and the hostage apology video, that FSG will suddenly be like ‘ah we’ve been bested this season fair and square, we’ll miss out on that revenue for a season at least like good owners and put all thoughts of a super league aside now our fans have told us what’s what’

Utterly deluded. Do people not realise that these owners of these clubs (and most of their fans) will not countenance a world where they are not at the top table. They can’t cope with it. There’ll be more pressure exerted moving forward now. ‘Give us what we want or the super league happens again’, and what they want is unrestricted access to all the money and no competition, and what’s more the majority of kopites would back them on that if it meant they ended up at the top of the pile and they could laugh at us which let’s face it is all most of them only care about, hence why Carragher drags our name into anything negative every chance he gets.
...and in that scenario it's primed for one of the paper tigers of Spirit of Shankly to get themselves a boardroom position of some description. They'll allow themselves to be co-opted for that privilege.

I notice that a number of other LFC support groups have affiliated to SoS over the last week...which they'll use as currency in their scheduled meeting with FSG tomorrow.

These people just want to be a fans liason body and gain influence, not a distinct organisation acting as a watchdog.

For FSG, they'll use SoS to get quietism as they re-group.

Next chance these muppets get for a gathering will be a war zone, especially if it’s some kind of protest.
They won’t like being outdone in the violence league, not one iota.

I feel for the next team who gets a coach welcome.
Hopefully theyll end up clobbering each other instead like at the shameful exhibition at the Pier Head, that melee in Europe and various other occasions
