ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

...and in that scenario it's primed for one of the paper tigers of Spirit of Shankly to get themselves a boardroom position of some description. They'll allow themselves to be co-opted for that privilege.

I notice that a number of other LFC support groups have affiliated to SoS over the last week...which they'll use as currency in their scheduled meeting with FSG tomorrow.

These people just want to be a fans liason body and gain influence, not a distinct organisation acting as a watchdog.

For FSG, they'll use SoS to get quietism as they re-group.

FSG get a lot more out of these meetings than SOS do.

SOS leaders will just look to feather their own nest, rather than represent ordinary fans in this. And some token fan on the board is going to make no use.

If I was FSG I'd give them both of those things, and you can then use the SOS useful idiot to sell the next travesty to the fanbase, on the grounds of collective responsibility. They havent got a clue.

I hate that line of argumentation. That's the point of protest, disruption, while not hurting anyone.

The violence obviously should be condemned, and rightly so will. The majority there weren't drunk morons though, they were legitimately protesting. Well done united. Showing up the Rs again

Yes. They dont seem to understand that peaceful protest is often disruptive. Thats the point of protest. And they are not bothered about launching objects, most of them find it funny when their fascist ninja's lobbed missiles at (and I quote) the "spik B******s" as they shouted at the coach. The one who are objecting are objecting to the fact they couldnt get their armchair season ticket match.

Yeah I keep seeing things about "were getting mpabbe or haaland" and I think "howre you this delusional?"

I can't wait for that bubble to burst. Please, if there's a god, give them a massive point deduction and have the next generation of andriy voronin and grujic up front. Keep thinking they surely only need one or two years out of Europe to collapse.

They just dont listen. Even when their owners explictly tell them there is no money to spend. The private debt (not to owners) has grown 4 fold to 200m. There are likely further debts owed to FSG on top of this. This next year will be even worse than the year of reporting. Their balance sheet is alarming. Wages are spiralling out of control and revenue is down. Thats never a good combination.

I seem to remember this MBappe thing for about 3 years now. Its funny how every year I have said it wont happen, and get proven right again and again.

I think alot of it is them fan pages on Facebook and that doing it for traffic and ads and that, I just don't see how anybody would be deluded enough to think its happening.

I really hope you're right mate but they always seem to find a golden ticket out of the situation somehow, it burns me head out.

Without reading it, are the two things not wanting to say for a team that has Liver and Pool in their name?
I read if for you. The 2 things he wants are asthma inhalers and a t-shirt to support racist team mates.

If only the rs weren't so honourable about such things, he'd really fit in well with Mbappe.

I mean all partisanship aside, that just reads like an unnecessary jibe to me. I'm sure its not, but its the sort of thing you'd expect a Millwall fan to say to try and act all edgy.

Like what relevance does Glasgow Rangers getting 96 points have to do with a football tragedy? Why is human life reduced to a point in a football season decades later?

In fairness to Liverpool fans, they have got close to 96 points the last couple of seasons, and I haven't seen any of them make that point, as it would be really bizarre. No idea what he's thinking really. But if he's using the Hillsborough tragedy to motivate his players, it feels out of line to me.
It would appear that doesnt apply to their manager...he must have a special dispensation.

They only didn’t like the super league as it incurred a negative media reaction for them. If the media had supported it every one of them would have been all over it, they had no issues from a moral stand point on the good of the game in England. If they thought it would give them some bragging rights and media limelight they would have sold their grandmothers to join. That’s why their protests were pitiful because they actually weren’t against it. Same with their pundits like Carragher, he didn’t use his platform like Neville to condemn the super league, he used it to ensure that critics couldn’t have a pop at Liverpool ‘it’s the owners not the players or fans, remember Everton were part of it in 1992’ pure partisan hysterics reaction. That’s where most of their fans sat.

Airbrushing of Heysel - no protest
Suarez’s racism - no protest
Anfield residents run out their homes - no protest
Staff furloughed - no protest
Super league - barely a gathering

When Hick’s and Gillette stopped spending barely a few years after a title challenge and CL final - mass fan mobilisation

There’ll be more noise next season if FSG haven’t put them back at the top than there was when they tried to destroy English football.
The crux of it is Libpewl fubball club have had success under FSG and they really don't give a flying one about anyone else, yes SOS will have their little digs every now and then about ticket prices etc,but that is about the extent of their "anger"towards their owners and Herr Gurns and Captain of Captains have already stated that they(FSG) are truly "good guys lol
