ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Theyve conceded one goal in 4 games from a header from a corner. Their squad in 19/20 was weak as well but when you don’t get any injuries to key players, the refereeing decisions all go your way, and opposition teams can’t h it an open net against you then you can still put a title challenge together. It was the same that season, every week there was a last minute pen, or a goalkeeping error, or some thing that gave them three points each game, it’s starting again here with two undeserved red cards two games in a row and opposition players missing extremely easy chances agaisnt them.

If you look at that team on paper it should be in a battle to finish in the top 4 but I’d put money on them being in the title race for a long time this season.

As much as I can’t stand the man, Klopp is the reason they will sustain a title challenge this season. We need him gone, we’ve needed it for a good few years. He’s one of the best managers in the world who also happens to have the absolute perfect personality to fit that club and it’s narcissistic fanbase. He was created in a lab to manage them, I’m convinced of it.

They'll be back on the Jurgen Juice this season

I’ll be amazed if they’re not. The likes of Robertson Salah Firmino and Alexander Arnold looked gassed in the middle of last season, couldn’t score, couldn’t defend. Now they’re back to tearing past players again like they’re not there for 90 minutes. Alexander Arnold has gone from the best full back in the world to one of the worst in the premier league to now being back to his best again. You don’t see many wild swings in form like that for a player playing every week in the same team under the same manager and no injuries.

The reason for that is the fast CB's behind who can cover when him and Robertson are marauding forward , he has 3 assists already in 4 games, they are back to squeezing the pitch high up with the CB's which makes the fullbacks the main creative outlet.

Matip, Gomez and VVD are rapid highline CB's who defend at the halfway line, when they were not in the team in any combination last season then the fullbacks had to hold the line because of the slow CBs for 30 odd games of the season, it's why their assists numbers were down so much and why they struggled to break down teams who sat back.

I did read on Statsbomb yesterday that Matip and VVD have started 34 PL games together, are unbeaten and conceded 14 goals.

On the Leeds website a post says that immediately after the incident Klopp was on the field of play. He didn't go to the injured player, he went to the ref and started giving him verbals. It was after that that the ref gave a red card. I don't know if any of this is true, just repeating what someone else has posted.
If Klopp did go on the field of play the ref should have booked him.
The post also claims that the red card was given 'on field' not by VAR?
Nothing new.
Remember Miralles payback on suarez, the rs trainer was on the field And Subsequently in his ear.
You could see the Raffs face change from stern to worried and angry wnen he realised if he red carded Miralles after having his ear bent he would be in trouble.
That 15 or so secs of the 4minutes 'break in play' was was just part of the on going transmission.
But later in the evening when I watched the whole game again, only 3mjns of the aftermath was show, the bit with the rs trainer in the ear of Reff was strangely cut out...

Why is Alexander-Arnold the best full back in the world? Is it because the RS and the RS media has proclaimed this. The lad can’t defend.
Best manager, best keeper, best full back, best central defender, best attack, hardest captain. They seem to be blessed.

Firmino has been out; and atm we need Mane on the pitch - he's been dire since last season.

Disagree about the Elliott injury too. Midfield is exactly where they need to be weakened: Wijnaldum left them under strength and Elliott was supposed to be the answer. Beyond a clueless Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho they are struggling with sick notes like Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keita and a soon to be 36 year old Milner.

Compared to the squads of City, United and Chelsea they are paper thin.
Henderson is a very good midfielder. He has the ability and intelligence to play multiple midfield roles and as we saw last season he is a competent CB. Added to that he is Liverpool’s inspirational leader on the pitch. I genuinely can’t name a better captain in the premier league right now. When assessing a player’s abilities one is best advised to consider the player’s net contribution to the team and Henderson scores highly on that front.
