ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Need City to do what they did last season and just start pullling away in a very efficiently boring manner. Whilst it’s all still close that lot just know they always have crazy moments in them every single game. If it was 0-0 v Wolves at 90 minutes City or Chelsea don’t win that game. Liverpool fans back their side to do that every single game though because they’ve grown up in a culture of nothing ever going wrong for them at all. They shouldn’t be anywhere near these two teams but they will be because they’ve got the potent mix of half the teams just giving up in the tunnel against them, some teams they’ll genuinely just outclass when playing well, and then when they don’t play well they’ll luck out on a way that City and Chelsea don’t tend to do.
They do keep going yes. Because they always know the pressure gets ramped right up on the officials to keep playing even into another minute of time added on (innumerable occassions that's happened) AND opposition teams sense that if they challenge anywhere near the box as time is running out on Liverpool there'll be an overwhelming urge by officials to hand free kicks or even soft pens....so they retreat and get behind the ball more, whereas they'd reached that far holding them off in the game by playing further up the pitch.

So it's not just that Liverpool keep going with self belief while Chelsea and City cant do that, it's that they keep going and get rewarded for it because opponents know that one half false move and they will be hammmered by the officials for it...AND they'll have to defend *just* that little bit longer (a minute makes a hell of a difference in these circumstances).

Mate, they never buckle, remember 2 years ago they went off to the world club championship in December, came back on boxing day and destroyed Leicester 4-0 away, they are a super fit machine and will win it because of their squad depth.
They're on the same number of points as they were this time last season when they struggled to get top 4. When they won the league for the first time in 30 years they were on 42 points at this stage and the opposition had already given up the chase. It was the only way they could win the title: jumping out to a 17 point lead by the half way stage of the league in 2019/20.

Now they're struggling each week to hold onto the shirt tails of Man City with desperate last second wins....and now comes the hard part for them: massive fixture congestion and still the AFCON tournament. Even if AFCON is abandoned...and it doesn;t look likely at this stage at least...they will lose a lot of points in the next 3/4 months.

Their best bet this season is to try and win the CL - as there's no obvious Euro dominant team that will see them off.

City topping the table after an imperious performance at Watford, and the BBC are handing them full recognition for it...

It's not just the BBC. It almost feels like the club is being deliberately ignored by the media. Although I'm happy enough for the club to stay out of the limelight and just get on with business.

If City win the league this season it will be 4 titles in 5 seasons, 4 league cups out of five, a couple of FA cups to boot. Yet people still make ridiculous claims that Klopp is a better manager and this Liverpool side might be the best in prem history. They’re not even close to being the best in their own era.

Yes, books like - 'Origi what went wrong - Newcastle's first £100m flop' foreward by Miniamino (Newcastles 2nd £100m flop)
Actually quite worrying that Eddie Howe is at the richest club in the world and them lot haven't spent much money in recent years.

I wonder if Jürgen was on the phone to the Saudis telling them how good Howe was as a manager , just so he can replace a couple of the squad.
