ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Some of them got a rough deal, but when a part of the crowd acts up, the crowd get treated as one.

Yep, I remember Lille, so the French cops over reacting is no great surprise.
This is it, there is a middle ground to be hand somewhere and it is not being looked for.

Compared to some past instances regarding that lot was this weekend that bad? No probably not. Was the organisation of the event poor? Certainly. Did the police get a bit heavy handed at points? Yes but with understandable reasons.

So lots of parties have not covered themselves in glory but they key point, the whole crux of the argument is that none of this happens if their fans don't try to be the "best fans in der world" who simply MUST be inside the stadium.

Sod off to your fan park and enjoy the delights of Paris. Without these blerts thinking they are above the law and can do whatever they want to follow their cult (like Madrid fans for example) then none of this happens.

Their whole "look a me, how boss off a fan am I" schtick is incredibly toxic.

Know a few people who went and got caught up in it. Feel sorry for them as they queued patiently for hours with genuine tickets.

The police went in heavy handed and they should shoulder some of the blame. But clearly there were fans getting in without/fake tickets. It's ludicrous to say that none of these people were Liverpool fans. So they have to shoulder some of the blame too. They obviously won't though.

Note the bit where the club are called out for not organising travel. Real did via official coaches.

Look at that, scumbags and pickpockets getting pulled out of the crowd and the Real Madrid fans don't even break sweat. No fights breaking out, no people climbing over each other and crucially, no one getting tear-gassed.

How to behave at a major event.
No fights broke out between Liverpool fans and locals either as far as has been reported

Right, the French government are claiming that 30-40k turned up with fake tickets

That would mean there were 60,000 people at one end of the ground - as in outside the stadium?

No, there weren't. And we all know it. So please, take the blue-tinted specs off, realise that they are CLEARLY lying and be angry about that.

There's no evidence that 'a part of the crowd' acted up. Some people bunking in is s****** behaviour but they bunked in successfully so there was no trouble.

The ones who actually climbed into the stadium itself have been reported to be local Parisians (maybe some were Liverpool fans).

I think taking into account lfc supporters previous form for misbehavior, then the french authorities were understandably on red alert.

I'm not necessarily saying they were in the right, but lfc supporters have proven time and again unfortunately, that they just aren't capable of behaving themselves.
They say the Irish invented revolution, but the French have alway,s taken it to another level. How many times have Parisians taken to streets only to be confronted by the authorities who dont hesitate with baton charges, tear gas, water cannons and guard dogs etc. They dont discriminate with nationals, had the Madrid fans behaved the way the minority of scum did and completely ruined the whole experience of the majority hard working Liverpool supporters some with their kids. The authorities would have meeted out the same treatment. Always the victom mentality just dose,nt wash here.

This is a pretty obvious contradiction.

Then you're bitterness knows no bounds.

Liverpool must take responsibility for organising travel etc - that could have been done. However, it's also on UEFA. And then as soon as those fans got to the ground, there would have been the same issue, their safety was in the hands of the police and UEFA.

We should listen to you because you were there right?

Maybe some were Liverpool fans as in I don't know, a lad from Saint-Denis might support Liverpool?

They have been reported to be local youths who jumped the fence into the stadium, which is what started the tear gassing.
