ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

(this guy is a Leicester fan)

The police, UEFA, and the relevant authorities completely cocked up, and have lied about it.

Liverpool should have ensured their fans were better organised before the match and explicitly told people not to turn up with fake tickets - and those that did have to take their share of the blame.

See you've already come to the conclusion that the French lied, that was the quickest inquiry ever, wish the one's on the Tories had been conducted this quickly!

Keeps coming back to the same question, why not the Real Madrid end?

That’s how I saw it
It has been getting rowdier and rowdier all afternoon, the police came to nab a couple of lads and then bottles were launched.
The police has been waiting for an excuse all day

And we gave it them tbh......and the innocent older fella's got hurt.

Closing bars and pushing ppl into central area's / squares for me is a mssive reason these things happen.

They say its easier to police, but clearly its not.

The response by the Lille police was perhaps over the top compared to how it's done over here, but it's not here. It was getting rowdy and there were some idiots.

They sent in a few undercover cops to detain those involved, our fans disagreed and some launched bottles, so they responded as the French often do.

Que sera.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with the stick that @BlueToff is getting. He's a good blue although I do respectfully disagree with some of the stuff he's saying here.

Insinuating he's a RS or biased towards them is however, in my own humble opinion, somewhat unfair.
Thanks Phil. Can agree to disagree. I don't think that's unfair. I will call out tosh and lies when I see it though. People seem to be insinuating I've said that there were no reds trying to get in with fake tickets - or absolving them of responsibility - which I'm not doing at all!

I just think authorities lying, as they have done, is sickening, especially because it doesn't take much for English/British fans in Europe to get stick as it is.

Look at what Rangers and Frankfurt have managed to do after the Europa League final, for example. Another UEFA showpiece event that was completely mismanaged. Anyway, I only logged back in to reply to @spectateur because he's a good poster too!

UEFA changed their story in the space of 90 minutes.

The French government have used figures that, as that thread - by a Leicester fan, as it says in his bio - goes to show, are either greatly exaggerated or impossible to have verified without everything being checked off independently.

Nobody will say a word against them in this City because of fear of being branded and hunted down.
They have made sure now that all the positions of power in the City are filled with die hard reds from the the City,s Mayor Joanne Anderson, the metro Mayor Steve Rotherham to most local constituency MPs,they all have their hat firmly in the RS bandwagon. Poor little scousers have been victimised yet again.
I have lived here all my life since the 70s and can honestly say I hate being a scouser because of what they have made the City look like over the last 30 years or so.

Absolutely
British police just stand by and watch, continental coppers are right up for it
Part of the reason British hooligans don’t travel anymore. Cracked skulls and 3 months in a dodgy nick with a dodgy trial will put anyone off

Haha! Told you you were not done!

Other factors of this shambles need to be addressed in any formal top level probe namely the forged tickets and Klopp's misguided enthusiasm for people to go to Paris even without tickets. Given that they've only been given scant consideration here and sidelined by the Paris Police violence, its wrong that none of the media interviews ever refer to these aspects.

A common denominator could be that people of influence interviewed such as the MP Byrne - a good, decent fella by all accounts - and Metro Mayor Rotherham are both fanatical LFC supporters. I understand their loyalty and first hand experience of what went on, but it would be refreshing if someone of note but detached from LFC could refer to other precipitating factors too if any formal Inquiry is to have any depth and clarity.
