ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

If they sign Nunez threy maybe also play in a different way. I know the media are keen to paint him as an all-round attacker, but the little I've seen of him suggests he's more of a a big physical target man. I think PL defenders would rather deal with that type of player than a Mane or Salah type who drop off and also have great movement and great feet when they recieve it.
Given how long it took for the front 3 to click under klopp, it could take a few years to get back to that level and that is depending on all these players being the right ones. Eventually even the best in the market sign a player who doesn't fit, if that new lad can't adapt to the league then it would leave a massive hole in the team that over the span of the season, will cost points that chnages them from title challenger to basicalyl chelsea's position.

Problem is though they've got 5, more than decent, strikers. How many times over recent seasons have they won a match courtesy of an attacking substitute being brought on when they've played poorly throughout the game ? Man city seem to coast through games whereas that lot rely on graft & wearing other teams down.

No ones owning up to blagging in this year?
The apology was sorry if innocent got treated to heavy handedness, that was required for them number of ticketless fans, and needed to stop a disaster

Is anyone else suspicious about Manes departure, is he going to be another Countiniho, I can't understand why he wants to leave the RS and go to Bayern. I suspect Klopps spezial brau no longer works.

He's a good player Nunez, and has had a great season. Seems a big price, but in fairness they have tended to buy well at that price. That being said, Alisson and VVD were a lot more proven than this lad, who is 1 in 2 from the Portuguese league (albeit with a much better record last season).

Klopp seemed to really like him. I do wonder if Klopp will start having a bigger impact, and they will move from the model they had previously, where Edwards would recruit more?

If so, it may work very well for them, but you don't know.
He's a good player, but 85m seems a huge fee. Nearly twice what City paid for Haaland who is a far superior player.

If the fringe players do the impossible and replace them by reaching the world class levels of both, who replaces the fringe players?

Finding fringe players who’ve made the impact they have and reached the levels of Jota, Diaz and to a lesser extent although not without some very important goals, Origi, is almost impossible again. Finding players of that level, who are happy to be fringe players for a prolonged period of time definitely is impossible.

This was their big shot at it this season, they’ll never be that strong again.

I’d love Alisson to move, for me he’s their best player by an absolute mile and single handedly wins them 12-15 points per season. If they lose him, they’re done. He’s not replaceable.

The interesting one is if Salah doesn't sign a contract. Yes he will have a big break this season, but his output dropped off 2nd half of last season (and Mane was better to be fair). I'm not saying he's going to be unprofessional and down tools, but you know if you are off, in any job, your slightly start thinking about the future a bit. Are you putting in those extra hours after training to maintain you at that elite level?

From January he can sign a pre-contract somewhere. I saw Real Madrid have 300m burning a hole in their pocket, and a world class manager at the helm. Their not going to give Liverpool much more than 30-40m (as with Mane this summer) but they may throw a big wedge at Salah come January.

Liverpool's potential problem is the one way of playing. To klopps credit , over the past 4? Years they have adapted from a rush style to playing more of the ball but ultimately when it comes to attack it's focused on mane and Salah. Firminho is , as I read in an article once, there for them to play off.

For it all to work , they need those 5 attackers all at the same level. Origi was great coming on snatching a late goal as we know. Play him for 90 minutes , not as effective.

So it's whether those 5 attackers can do over 75 minutes what they do in 15 usually and do it over 50 plus games.

Mane gone and Salah heart not at the club anymore will make a huge difference. They will lose what makes them win, unless they really are the masters of the transfer market.

Has just been on Sky Sports News telling everyone how he put the French straight on how fantastic and the RS supporters were in Paris and their good name should not be tarnished. Good lad ;)

Salah was so poor at the end of the season because he had to cycle off PED’s for the AFCON, and he had the look of a completely defeated man at the end of the CL, lost the league on the last day (and he thought he scored the league winning goal)

If they were gonna pull a Coutinho with anyone it would be him, he doesn’t wanna be there, a lot of their fans have been racially abusing him since losing the main cups at the end of the season, wouldn’t be surprised to see some action there.

They always seem to get the right attackers. However, he looks more containable for PL defenders than a Mane or Salah.

If I were them I'd be concerned why major Spanish clubs have passed on him.

An utter embarrassment.

UEFA are quietly sitting there letting the Kopite hordes put their necks through a noose for them. The inquiry will make sure that lot cant turn up with tens of thousands without tickets ever again.

Rotherham and his ilk are facilitating that.

It's hilarious.

Yeah the effect of this season is going to be crushing on players like him that , with his record he knows he should be considered one of the very best in the game. Over 20 goals a season every season is one of the best.

Yet nobody talks about him that way, even now Vinny junior is being talked up after the final. This season was his chance to cement himself as part of the conversation and nobody really is talking about him.

Without mane , Salah is THE star, but doing it off the back of losing the big ones and people leaving and you won't sign that contract?

Remember neymar left Barca because he wanted to be the star man at a time when he was in messis shadow. When mane leaves and Liverpool aren't top of the league come December, that second half drop won't be because of afcon , it will be playing to get that move to a top club instead.

As it stands, Mane is going and Salah will be gone for nothing at the end of this up and coming season. At the end of this season they'll have gone from well established front 3 of Salah, Firmino and Mane, that has kept them challenging to unproven Diaz and Nunez along with Jota, hit and miss and Firmino. I think Klopp wants a big fella down the middle, in the hope that a big fella will capitalise more on the extremely high number of crosses they put into the box.
