ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Headline doesn’t say that he had to use tear gas due to the massive numbers of fake tickets and the ground being full with the fans not listening to pleas to back up to stop a disaster, but never mind eh?
But I see that they are complaining and protesring about the Portuguese gentleman selected to head up the UEFA enquiry.
Claims he won't be impartial.

why, does he have a French grandpappy or something?

Little bit racist from the racist lovers, so no one is surprised that they are cryarsing again.

He’s probably a kopite anyway.

I would have preferred an Italian from the Turin region as head of the uefa inquiry meself - they would have been completely impartial…..

I agree with Dunc to be honest

Klopp is the special ingredient that will keep them cooking even if the squad is less impressive, like how Ferguson did at United when he got comparative blood out of a stone with that Squad in his final few seasons

Liverpool will benefit from United's self inflicted stay in the wilderness as well. Right now I can't see past City, Liverpool, Chelsea or Spurs for the Title in the next few years. United need a big rebuild, Arsenal just aren't well run enough on the sporting side (although financially they do well), Leicester will always be a good side in the mix for Europe and cups but their Title winning days look over for this generation at least. They are well run though so they'll always be sniffing around in case one or two of the sides above them have a bad season. I think Villa are doing with money what we did (i.e. wasting it), and we're miles of the pace and will be for a while. Palace look decent under Viera, but I can't see them challenging for the Title

Unless Newcastle find a way around FFP and just keep spending until they get it right, it's going to be four team league for a while yet I think, and Liverpool will always be in contention whilst Klopp is there. I just hope when he finally does go they get the appointment as spectacularly wrong as Man United did when Ferguson left, or how Liverpool themselves got it wrong when Dalglish left the first time
....and to what end?

Look at what they do with their 'special ingredients' (as posted yesterday) https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/...rpool-fc-part-3.107670/page-4257#post-9720290

They are not an elite club in terms of success.

They are an elite club only in terms of their media coverage.

I said a couple of weeks ago, they are using their dirty behaviour as ANOTHER reason to play victim, it is maddening. Why do authoritie not tell the truth about their behaviour?
Maybe it's because the media and TV have made them a big box office attraction.
Lots of money involved in keeping them popular with the armchair fans.

The apology as reported by the Establishment Club's media wing: it's not really an apology though is it?

Dig a little deeper and the feller has said they're sorry for the "people acting in good faith" who got caught up in the decision (that he still supports) to use spray and gas to disperse the tens of thousands of fans - most of whom turned up without bona fide tickets looking to blag in - rather than charge them and drive them back with force.

Of course, there's no criticism of the French police chief for stating that Liverpool fans were attacked by 300-400 local youths....the Kopite's and their media are happy to throw the immigrants under the bus to take the blame for their non-compliance of requests not to turn up without tickets to the stadium.

It's great to see this drag on and on though: the fume they have at losing that final is hilarious. That's what's driving this on 2 weeks afterward. I'm still swimming in their tears.

Had a feeling they would move for Nunez. He has them written all over him. The last few years they have ramped spending up significantly. Helped by some of their poor players fetching a premium from gullible clubs. You just have to hope City continue to pip them year after year. Said it the last few years now, I can’t see them dropping off anytime soon.
Perhaps this summer is going to see a change, a decline in that team.

The success has come from the front 3 being so consistent and, well, top class. Take one out and its not longer a unit, if jota or diaz cannot replace what mane does specifically then it does not benefit the other two as much.

Now salah, a almost proverbial loser in red after this season, last year of his contract and clearly not going to re sign with them. how motivated is he going to be really, when he knows 12 months from now he will get the money liverpool won't pay him? although a great player, hisa drop in form over the second half of a season will be more noticable without mane there to cover it up.

Take 2 of their 3 out, runners up again to trophies they should be winning, anything they come back with won't be as good as it has been. Klopp can rebuild and maybe diaz/jota is part of that rebuild but they are going to lose the one thing that they leaned on, reliability. Being able to win games and keep going no matter what, with mane gone and salah seeing his arse, a big ask for fringe players to replace that.

I think the authorities are going to jolly along Liverpool's mob and their media cheerleaders with a few crumbs and half-arsed apologies but make sure their club never has the chance to endanger their events and the cash that goes with them again.

Their inquiry will lead to some wide reaching directives limiting how many fans get anywhere near a stadium from now on for that CL final.

If the Kopites are unhappy with any individual leading the Inquiry it'll be on the basis of trying to water down conclusions reached on keeping their rioutous lot away from Europa/CL final stadiums.

UEFA are in a good position here now to sort that lot out by changes to ticketing and security on the day of the game.

If the fringe players do the impossible and replace them by reaching the world class levels of both, who replaces the fringe players?

Finding fringe players who’ve made the impact they have and reached the levels of Jota, Diaz and to a lesser extent although not without some very important goals, Origi, is almost impossible again. Finding players of that level, who are happy to be fringe players for a prolonged period of time definitely is impossible.

This was their big shot at it this season, they’ll never be that strong again.

I’d love Alisson to move, for me he’s their best player by an absolute mile and single handedly wins them 12-15 points per season. If they lose him, they’re done. He’s not replaceable.

If they sign Nunez threy maybe also play in a different way. I know the media are keen to paint him as an all-round attacker, but the little I've seen of him suggests he's more of a a big physical target man. I think PL defenders would rather deal with that type of player than a Mane or Salah type who drop off and also have great movement and great feet when they recieve it.
