Can't help but think if supporters of Chelsea or Man City had to deal with what the Liverpool fans in Paris did that so many parts of the media would be as firmly in their corner like they are for the Kopites right now

I can't remember, was there as much outrage in the press when some of our lot got teargassed in Lille for just having a sing song in a town square?

As someone who went to that game, I can confirm that the French police are heavy-handed with football fans and it really seemed to me like they were spoiling for a fight when we were in Lille and that they would have used any excuse to start cracking heads

So I buy that the police were the primary cause of this issue. What agitates me however is that I don't think any other club would get such uniform support from so many institutions and media as Liverpool are getting right now

Will all these newspapers and talking heads in the media come to another English club's aid if this ever happens again?

I've been saying for years that they are the club of the British Establishment.

Living abroad I don't the watch UK news at all, can't be arsed logging into streaming sites just to watch the news .

I was back in the UK just after the final and I can't say I was overly shocked at the media but it did rile me up that it was so one sided. I mean there was not even the tiniest hint that there might have been 2 sides to the debate, that there might have been wrongdoings by some Liverpool fans. I get the distress it caused innocent fans but they should also be looking at their own, sometimes the only way to get rid of nasty elements is to self police. They, as a general group, also seem incapable of doing this, it just adds to the list of things that make them a cult.

If, by a miracle, one of the mainstream media picked up all the evidence and ran with it, using good honest fans to back things up, I wonder what would happen. The hope would be that enough people wake up to the fact of what kind of person they have in their ranks and actively try to stop it from within.
