ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Living abroad I don't the watch UK news at all, can't be arsed logging into streaming sites just to watch the news :).

I was back in the UK just after the final and I can't say I was overly shocked at the media but it did rile me up that it was so one sided. I mean there was not even the tiniest hint that there might have been 2 sides to the debate, that there might have been wrongdoings by some Liverpool fans. I get the distress it caused innocent fans but they should also be looking at their own, sometimes the only way to get rid of nasty elements is to self police. They, as a general group, also seem incapable of doing this, it just adds to the list of things that make them a cult.

If, by a miracle, one of the mainstream media picked up all the evidence and ran with it, using good honest fans to back things up, I wonder what would happen. The hope would be that enough people wake up to the fact of what kind of person they have in their ranks and actively try to stop it from within.
It's really simple to understand what happened on the night of the CL final: there were 19,000 Liverpool fans entitled to be queuing to get into that stadium, but tens of thousands more turned up to get in too with the usual blagging methods that they celebrate themselves on banners and in songs...because it's part of their culture.

The coppers were primed and ready for it and some innocent people got caught up in their determination to stop the stadium perimeter being breached.

That's it really. Nothing more to it than that. The situation was caused by Liverpool supporters turning up en masse to that stadium - somthing they were always going to do even before the blessing of their club's manager to do exactly that.

History has shown it to be so.

History has shown it to be so.

We've all known in our lives someone who is an inveterate liar...someone who puts a lot of energy and intensity into lying, so much so that they actually create an alternate universe where they are convinced they're not lying. That's the Liverpool fanbase over matters of stadium attendance.

They were encouraged to take that approach by their own club in the wake of Heysel and they've seen it through ever since. There will never be any self reflection or acknowledgement of responsibility for their own actions, because the opposite is baked into their identity now.

The only semi-shocking thing about all this denial now is the way they have the British media in lock step with them. So when 50,000 Liverpool supporters turn up for a final that they only have 19,000 tickets for the blame rests with the French Government, UEFA, the police, the local African immigrant kids etc etc etc.

There's something VERY sinister about this level of unconsidered coverage by the media. It's out of control and will ineviatably result in another stadium disaster with that lot involved again. Hopefully UEFA can at least make sure the conditions for it to happen in their finals are reduced by a strong review of what went on in Paris and enactment of it.

It’s the list of excuses they have to hand at all times:

Uefa logistics are terrible
Why are the tickets paper not digital
Local youths were waiting around the stadium, there wasn’t enough police
The stadium is old and not fit for purpose
The police were far too violent

All problems that no other set of fans seem to suffer.

Effectively they want to be able to behave as badly as they like and unless every single facet of the experience is set up for them to do that then it’s someone else’s fault when there’s another stadium incident. Basically it’s ‘let us all in and have enough space for us all, but if you don’t there’ll be problems and we’ll blame all of the above issues’

The French police saved another stadium disaster from happening and are now being castigated for it. People can argue about the approach they took but they were faced with tens of thousands of fans without tickets or with fake ones trying to force entry into a stadium that was already overpopulated in the Liverpool end. It wasn’t a time for gentle policing, the behaviour of Liverpool fans make it so. They keep talking about this impeccable behaviour yet some videos show fans scaling fences and getting into brawls, how is that impeccable behaviour.

If they stopped weaponising their fanbase every single time they go abroad they’d find that all these so called problems they keep having with policing or non modem stadiums or local youths would largely disappear as they have for every other team.

I've been saying for years that they are the club of the British Establishment.

This reaction to a few people getting pepper sprayed underlines it.
it would seem like that but i think useful idiots is a better way to describe them. Jamie Carraagher and Steve McMacamacan etc are bought and paid for lackeys pushing an agenda. that club truly is a Sly TV hyped cult with its poisoned tentacles in Malaysia, Norway and beyond, drawing in the gullible. a wise man once said don`t, don`t, don`t, don`t believe the hype

I think he just said "don't believe the hype" and it got looped.

100%. Wijnaldum has been named flop of the season in Ligue 1. Emre Can is still missing even at Dortmund and Coutinho is at Aston Villa.

When Coutinho left Liverpool some pundits were claiming he was going to move Messi out of his position at Barcelona that’s how good he was. He then couldn’t get in Barca or Bayern’s teams and is now at Aston Villa. They dope their players at Liverpool. Salah and Mane will both fall off a cliff as soon as they leave that club.

i think its got a lot to do with the favourable refereeing shown to them. it makes them appear better than they actually are. ages ago, one of their ex-players said he `couldnt believe what he got away with in a liverpool shirt` i dont know who it was tho

I can think of about 10 "next Peles" out of their academy who probably couldn't believe they away with earning a living there.
