Interesting statement by Klopp on the CL final riot. He's saying that UEFA have to make sure that ticketless fans remain in fan parks and that they have to guarantee that for the CL/EL finals of the future.

This is something I thought would happen. That club knows how near they came to having their tens of thousands of ticketless fans overwhelming an event and making it a potential disaster. They've seen their arses on this despite all the talk by their media propaganda wing to point fingers everywhere but at their own fans. The club's commercial side and future sale would be wrecked by another stadium disaster, and they know it.

They'll be delighted for UEFA to act with tough measures to make sure there cant be a surge of fans without tickets on one of their showcase final venues again.

The Kopites and their blagging in culture are going to receive an almighty blow. I hope they and their media mates have a had a good time playing the victim card because it doesn't look like they'll get the chance to play it at a Euro final again.

Looking forward to reading the UEFA report's recommendations on this.

How is it UEFA's job to keep the public away from an event they don't have a ticket for?

Sounds like he's back peddling furiously. Now it's all UEFA's fault and the French. However, the conclusion is the same: dont allow room for tens of thousands of our supporters to overwhelm a stadium's security in future.

LFC basically handing UEFA a blank cheque to keep their ticketless fans at bay.

UEFA have to draw up some very stringent guidelines on travel to CL/EL finals and once in the host city checkpoints have to be overcome prior to the stadium perimeter.


...all of this is necessary, btw, because of one group of fans: the psychotic and riotous Kopites who cant learn the lessons of two stadium disasters they were involved in.

That is basically what he is saying. Lockdown the fan parks and hold people inside.

They have had a few hundred bunk in places like Athens and Madrid and nothing was done to punish them.

Paris is the easiest big city on continental Europe to get to, so tens of thousands ticket less fans went (encouraged by their own manager). A few thousand caused the chaos and nobody is allowed to criticise and none of it is their fault.

Hope they get thrown under the bus in the investigation. Mind you, they will be too busy throwing bottles at it to notice.

Spot on.

If they had won this 1-0, the 'chaos' would have barely received a mention.

This result and losing the Prem to City, screwed up the 'immortals' parade.

The cult and media had to run with victimhood again.

That's how pathetic he is. Using a riot to hide away how easy it was for Carlo to snuff out his obvious tactics.
