ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm already calling it regarding Nunez. By the end of the season people will be talking about him as one of the all-time biggest flops in PL history. RS have completely **** the bed and overpaid massively for a donkey. lol

It's uncanny.

A resembalnce and parallel he'll struggle to shrug off.

A few months on the old Salbutamol and spezial brau and he'll be prime Zlatan Ibrahimović nailed on.

I've been around far too long to write off Nunez just yet. The panic amongst their followers that he might not be very good is rather funny however ?

The main thing for me is that they're acknowledging that the way they had been set up and the tactics they used wont get them the game's top prizes.

Klopp will revert to more of an obvious 4231 formation and they'll be looking for Nunez to be a target man, hold up play and bring the 3 in behind into it. The PL defences will be well capable of containing that.

The Kopites are talking up how flexible they can be with what Nunez offers and talk him up as a Lewandowski figure, but I think they know in their heart of hearts that Nunez isn't that class.

Well, I'd certainly agree that their system has to change to accommodate Nunez and it may come at a struggle. Jota is picking up a lot of injuries and Firmino looks a yard short of what he was. Granted Diaz looks fairly settled and Salah is Salah, it doesn't leave them a lot of cover. Mane is a massive loss and I'm not sure they've adequately replaced him.

I just wonder if their policy has been influenced by City getting Haaland. They got Carvalho from Fulham but he's still a teenager; I'm not sure how much football he will play, so they maybe felt they had to go toe-to-toe with City in terms of having an orthodox number 9. On paper, City have had an excellent window - replacing Sterling, Jesus, Fernandinho and probably Zinchenko with Haaland, Alvarez, Phillips and probably Cucurella for even money is impressive. Does signing Ramsey, Carvalho and Nunez move Liverpool closer to City?

I agree about City's summer so far. Their only problem will be blending these signings.

Liverpool supporters seem to be kidding themselves that Harvey Elliott is going to be top class. I dont see it. He's decent but more huff and puff than genius.

Refuse to believe any player named Julian will be good.
