ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Are there two Martin Tylers?
Reason I'm asking is that the a guy name Martin Tyler has offended the RS hordes with a comment associating Hillsborough and "other hooligan events". Thing is twitter alive with RS shouting that Tyler has always had an agenda against LFC so no surprise. That's not the guy who commentates for Sky surely not? Who is this imposter?

I've got his commentary "aguerooooooooooo" as my ringtone. You wouldn't believe how many people it triggers, even after all these years. His commentary on City matches after that and in particular when we play Liverpool has soured by enjoyment of it. He is so pro Liverpool that every time I hear his voice I picture him as a FKW dressed from head to toe in LFC merchandise. Sooner he retires the better.

The subject matter aside, having read the twitter responses I now am in no doubt that RS are the most blinded and deluded customers ever. For them not to recognise the bias towards them from the guy is astounding.

they come across very poorly, have you ever thought that there might be bogus accounts and trolls baiting that cult and egging them on to extremes. ages ago i snooped around the rawk forum for a bit and it was unbelievable- they wrote so many reams and reams of sermons and insanity that i thought they couldn`t be real people

Being an old arse and only scratch the surface with mobile technologies and media, I agree that some of their claims have been so outlandish that I have momentarily paused to consider what I've just read and concluded they can't be serious efforts.

they`ve got cartoon character mentalities. i couldn`t read beyond the first line of their posts and its nearly as bad if you meet any old mates and they`re spouting about the cult- you need to think on your feet in those situations before you end up sinking in their mental swamp

I just nod and say 'yes that's right'.

Mental swamp. Love it.

He says Hillsborough and OTHER hooligan related issues as well. So I don't think he was having a go at them at all was he.

I don't think he was trying to conflate the two

He just worded it very badly

If you were writing it you'd say something like "the game was in a bad state. Hillsborough had only recently happened and there were also completely separate issues that were causing problems such as hooliganism"

He needed to clarify it and he has. It wouldn't shock me if he wasn't challenged because the BBC didn't even think he was conflating them

In some ways I bet both parties wish the BBC interviewer had just said "just to clarify Martin, you're not conflating those two things?" at which point he could have said "oh no of course not, apologies I worded it badly"

Then there's no story

Life isn't convenient like that though
