ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

He was always injury-prone before he signed for them. That leaves them with Milner, Henderson and Fabinho for the foreseeable. If City beat Bournemouth on Saturday, they go into the Palace game on Monday under a bit of pressure.
I think Palace will hand them a real test.

Actually a bit of a shame, they rave about him but every time I see him I have no idea what he does apart from move the ball laterally to the fullbacks. When Elliot replaced him he played Salah in behind with one of his first balls for the equaliser.

He’s always been massively overrated by them. He barely scores, barely assists, and doesn’t often play the killer ball. They might even be better off without him if Klopp goes to a 4231 with Firmino or Carvalho behind the front three.

It'll be hard to do anything with that Liverpool midfield, it's a real midden for them. They really should have been signing two players there. Henderson should have been shown the door and Rice brought in. He's box to box and they miss that.

Popped over to RAWK to see what they made of that City game. Unsurprisingly, they are apoplectic with rage about the fact that Fulham upped their game while West Ham rolled over. Conveniently ignoring the fact that West Ham were prevented from getting into the game at all by City's sheer dominance. This is in marked contrast to the way they handed the initiative to Fulham, though they are 'certain' that Fulham will not play like that against 'any other team' this season.

No other fans could ever claim that they were cheated by their opponents having the sheer effrontery to try hard and play well...

You really couldn't make it up.

that may backfire on them, if someone may have to shell out loads of cash as compo, they will argue and provide evidence to the contrary of the current narrative. Their manufactured cover story may fall apart in public.
The evidential threshold will be very high. I don't know how they prove a case against the French authorities or UEFA. I should imagine that if UEFA can demonstrate that large numbers of ticketless fans were in the vicinity of the ground then the case dies. UEFA can rightly argue that events on the street outside the ground are nothing to do with them.

Imagine having to take responsibility for your fans outside of the ground. Man City bus drivers or ambulance personnel, for example, would be curious to know if this were true.

Henderson is a far more effective player for them, but seems to often get a lot more stick. Thiago/Keita seem to get very highly rated by a lot of their none match going, dare I say it, Fifa playing fans.

Thiago is a funny one. He had a spell for Bayern, where playing in the system Pep left behind he had a window where he did look world class. It was in a very specific league though, playing in a team really built around him.

I never felt it was a great fit, and always felt Wijnaldum was the more versatile fit. Outside of that purple patch, Thiago to me has always underwhelmed a bit. Hes probably a rich mans Andre Gomes, he does lots of nice things and is easy on the eye, but in terms of key contributions is a bit light on the ground.
