ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Not sure, but I'm always wary of people that dismiss players just because of the league they play in. It seems a very lazy way of judging a player.

I am just looking at the reality of recent times.

Klaassen, Blind, Bergwijn, Janssen, Jahanbakhsh, Ziyech, Van der Beek, Angeliño, Berghius, De Jong, Davinson Sanchez, Riedewald, Locadia, Van Wolfswinkel to name a few.

Not really a lazy way of judging, but the odds prove unfavourable.

(Decided to exclude Sinisterra, Antony and Martinez, as jury still out on them).

Just had a quick bead at the BBC football website. Every other of the sections on offer are to do with the rats. This includes the headline section on the new signing and how slick Virgil was in getting the deal done.

Imagine if there hadn't been something to write about a 24 year old World Cup winner who scored a hat trick against in the last final and didn't win or about the fastest to reach 20 league goals in a season (since footy began in the mid 90's.

We might have had a special on how Klopp lances his boils or fingers players up the hoop for motivation.

Here's Klopp on how the 'pull' of Liverpool was more then enough for The Great Gakpo...

"Some of these nice moments when you are manager of Liverpool and you think you have to convince someone, but when you speak to them you realise the door is wide open - that this is more or less a home run."

Another one coming for minimum wage and offering to clean his own boots for the glory of Der Redmen then...

I agree that there is not a great track record, but when you consider the best Dutch players tend to go to Spain or Italy successfully, it could be argued that the reason is English clubs sign the wrong players, not that the players in the league aren't good enough
