ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I agree that there is not a great track record, but when you consider the best Dutch players tend to go to Spain or Italy successfully, it could be argued that the reason is English clubs sign the wrong players, not that the players in the league aren't good enough

Perhaps, but I’d possibly argue it’s not the strongest league at the moment, nor are the Dutch at developing talent at present.

Gakpo couldn’t well be brilliant. My original point was the last Eredivisie import to be adapt and be excellent was Suarez, so
It wouldn’t shock me if he ended up
being good.

Others to other leagues haven’t necessarily lit the place up either, De Ligt wasn’t a success at Juve, Memphis struggles when he’s not focal point, de Roon whilst a success with Atalanta, had an unsuccessful spell with Middlesbrough, Martins Indi also flopped.

Law of averages say some players will come good, but just think the transition to the PL is a bit high at present.

The RS do have a habit of signing players who shall we say, have an above average World Cup. Thinking Firminho and Origi as two that spring to mind. So again, as much as I could deride the latest addition I won't because Origi turned into a bogey man against us.

Think Firminio only played his first world cup in 2018
