ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

If they punished one they probably had to punish the other. Can’t see Robertson wanting an 8 game ban for handling the linesman so I’m not surprised it’s been swept under the carpet.

When you complain though Kopites, this is how everyone else feels when your club and Merseyside police never find anything when it comes to all your misdemeanours in the past. ‘Just couldn’t identify any of the multiple people lobbing bottles at the City coach or firing fireworks at the Liverbuilding, sorry lads’

Exactly.

They said on the radio that the statement is a tacet acceptance by the RS that Robertson put his hand on the linesman and will have come across aggressive.

Why else is there no punishment for the official? I think most objective fans will know the response wasn't the correct one, yet it's a result of Robertson's actions.

The evidence suggests he has come to confront him, perhaps used aggressive language and a tone and has come in contact with him. That ain't allowed.

Yet smack rat baby is getting away with it but mitrovic is slammed - double standards/corrupt fa & pgmol at it again.

The fa and pgmol have really supported the refs and linesman and set a precedent by disciplining the Big Baby for his actions and not the official, but as it’s Liverpool they don’t do a tap.

No wonder officials in the amateur game are getting abused & assaulted Every week, when certain premier league players can do what they like and have nothing happen.

Fulham should be sending in the solicitors - it’s pathetic how biased and corrupt the league and pgmol are.

The decision shows that they are afraid to have to punish Robertson. A complete farce given the strict line they played with Mitrovic.
Linesman should have received a long ban, as should Robertson.

In reality, they've effectively said it's fine to put your hands on an official. Let's see how that plays out this weekend

To be fair, I think the Mitrovic and Robertson comparisons are somewhat unjustified - false equivalence. Yes they appear to both put hands on an official...|

... yet Mitrovic came up, pushed the referee, continued to remonstrate and put his hands on him again. That's why he rightly got a lengthy ban.

In reality, Robertson's isn't that severe, however personally he should still have received a reprimand of some sorts, more than the yellow card.

Even if it means the linesman was given a punishment, I think that would have set the better precedent: he shouldn't have reacted, but a player does this and a ban.

I know I've said it numerous, numerous times over the years, but imagine that in a game of rugby!

No, action needs to be taken. It needs to be taken against the players who think it is OK to go up to refs and put hands on them.

We know that the quality of refereeing in this country is very poor, what we need is players acting like adults. If a rugby player went up to the ref and did what Robertson did, he might have accidently caught him, trying to free his arm. However, the more likely action would have been a yellow card and/or moving the penalty (if there was one) forward 10 yards, maybe even further.

That player would not do that again, as it costs their team. Until players are taught how to act and respect referees, nothing will change. Yes, you don't have to agree with the decision but show some respect and enquire in the right way. Points deductions, moving free kicks forward, yelllow cards, are the only way that will stop this behaviour.

I think the incidents are very similar, almost identical, and in some cases worse in my view.

Robertson was shocked and continued to follow and remonstrate with the official, and the cryarse little shithouse tried to bring his mates in by moaning, so captain of captain hendo and a few other LFC players then went and mishandled officials and were in their faces, instead of grabbing the little jock beaut and getting him off the pitch asap.

The only reason the Lino hit Robertson when he shrugged him off is due to the smack rat’s aggressiveness and proximity to the official - it’s 100% on Robertson and he should have been sanctioned as mitrovic was.

Maybe it's blue tinted specs but I agree.

Mitrovic was heat of the moment after a teammate was sent off (awful and rightfully banned).

Ratty was unhappy with a decision from a few minutes prior, followed the linesman aggressively and put his hand on him.

I would like to see Fulham appeal the length of ban citing this as evidence.

Has anyone other than Niasse ever received a ban for diving after the fact?

I don’t think this is blue tinted specs mate.

There is clear bias in how these incidents are dealt with depending on the teams involved - the scab 6 can get away with absolute murder with officials, and the scab 6 managers can do what they like and abuse 4th officials - look at how shippmann and arteta go mental on the touchline and nothing is done, but the manager of Everton fc walks calmly onto the pitch after the match to speak to the ref and is banned - same with Silva at Fulham.

Fulham should definitely appeal if they can or prep the solicitors - the issue could stop them getting a European place and the associated financial rewards. Mitrovic deserved sanctions and a ban but the length should be questioned, there’s zero consistency if Robertson struts away freely after causing the whole issue.

The niasse thing was and is a disgrace - again, it’s the checking club badge/scab 6 corrupt biased element of the fa, prem league and pmgol.

People will claim that but I would say if this was any other club my view would be the same.

If the people want refereeing standards to improve then they need a very strict process of handling professional players who touch the officials, in this manner. Add to that any aggressive behaviour towards to the officials. Who would want to be a ref knowing that the authorities are basically putting them in a situation where they are allowed to be verbally and potentially physically abused like they are now.

Mitrovic was rightly given a lengthy ban and hopefully that will send a message to some, however they negate that with not punishing Robertson and not only that but in some cases making it out like he is the victim here.

We can argue that Mitrovic was more physical, but it is all the same. A complete lack of respect and improper behaviour. You may not agree with a decision but to do this is bang out of order.

If anybody but the captain and offender talks to the ref, in a way that is deemed aggressive then a yellow card (maybe this is what sin binning could be used for) and/or free kick is moved forward. If there is ANY aggressive physical contact then an automatic x amount of games ban, extra can be added dependent on the severity.

Liverpool fans will be sick as a sick Liverbird when they see Bellingham has signed for us. A couple of City ITK's said months ago that Jude had verbally agreed to sign for us. Rumour has it is looking for an apartment in this city centre. Still 11/4 to sign for us with Paddypower.

I think I'll have a flutter😉
Verbal contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on. Having said that, I await a City branded kettle to go on sale specifically designed for boiling kopite urine.
