ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

That’s one serious whack of money in one go for a release clause. Can they even afford to fix their crap defensive and central midfield now.

What really does it matter? I remember back to the days of Ian Snodin where we could actually compete with the RS and beat them to players when given they were given the option of which club they wanted. Snodin was 23 then when he made his choice, this kid is 22. Now we're so far away from that reality its unreal. This kid might never even have heard of Everton or understand that we're from the same city. It maybe possible that they can only be manage this by selling Salah to Saudi, but even with that they're likely to be so far ahead of us next season its unreal. We play in the same league, but in reality its a different world. We're likely to have to try and get by with loans and free transfers while they pick up players like this. This is on Big Bill K and the rest of the board over the past 20 years. This is what they've caused, and whether we can survive to ever recover from it is really open to question, no matter when the new stadium is completed.

What you even waffling on about

This Szobo whatever fella has panic buy written all over him. Apparently he played well against the RS for Salzburg in a match 3 and a half years ago which is why Klopp wanted him. 😂

I guess I'm less concerned with trying to kick the RS for every move they make, and more concerned with where we as a club are at the moment. Maybe that gets me labelled as a kopite, I really couldn't care at this stage. There just was a time when we could beat them to players they wanted like Snodin as mentioned. Now we just sit on a very distant sideline, hoping whoever they sign is a disaster, while simultaneously hoping that something miraculous might happen within our club to rescue it from the death spiral we've been gradually getting deeper into. My thinking is we should just disregard them until we get our own house in order to reasonably be considered a rival again, because we're certainly not that now. And pretending we are still a rival to them is just going to prolong the agony until we reasonably can compete them on a level playing field again. Who knows whats around the corner for either us or them? Maybe in 1-2 seasons things could look very different. I honestly believe that, and that Man City are where they are at the moment is the perfect example of that, but if/when Guardiola leaves all bets are off as to if they can actually replace him with someone similar, or whether they'll get another Pellegrini or worse. Everything is cyclical. But getting het up over their 60M signing while we gather our pennies together to try find any player willing to move to us is not a good look for us.

But hey, everybody has an opinion.. this is just mine

I mean if you’ve ever paid attention on here you’ll know I couldn’t care less what they do or who they sign. My original post was just a general comment considering they’re meant to be fairly skint.

And thats fine.. Its just this and the combination of the RB Leipzig thread that rubs me up the wrong way. For me RB Leipzig is the one of the prime examples of how football is going down a path of destruction, lead primarily by the suits in UEFA and FIFA who will take any bribe given to them, Blatter led the way, but his successors are no better and possibly even worse, and with is now happening in Saudi makes me think the game we knew is on its last gasp of life. I'd love Bayern to be beaten by almost anything, but what RB are doing with Leipzig is not one of the options I'd prefer.

That the RS and RB (Leipzig or Salzsburg or whoever) seem to be tightly knit together says a lot, really a lot that we already know and would not want to get involved with. Its almost at this stage that RB are a feeder club of sorts to the RS. They'll cook the books between them to continue this, but focusing on either of them won't lead to happy times for us. Thats why I'd prefer to ignore it if possible, and just treat it as another small step towards the death of the game we know, while hoping the cyclical nature of the game helps us rebound in some small (at least) way.

Just my opinion.. but I've had a few drinks and now I'm heading to bed.

Yeh they’re a terrible team. Run well, make profits, give young players a chance to play at the highest level. The devil.

This is how it will pan out, when you next speak to your RS acquaintance.

Koppite= ' I have been talking about this lad for ages.

You= Smile, and think = No you Haven't.

Koppite= ' It say's £60 million, but it will actually work out at £10 over 3 years'

You= Nod your head, and think =What a bell-end.

Koppite= 'Da Quadruple is nailed on for next season'

You= Smile, Nod ya head, and think= So glad we are not them, the absolute demented Kultist's.
Be sure to ask them who they have in the CL
