It's terrible how City have spent €109m and recouped €40m (net spent of €69m) whereas Liverpool will have only spent €221m and recouped €60m.

That's a net spend of (checks notes) of €161m. They can't compete with oil clubs apart from spending €100m more up to now.

Sadly, I think they've got the making of a decent midfield in the making. Is Caicedo worth that price? I doubt it, but he fits Klopp's model and has PL experience.

I do think it may take some time for the midfield to adapt to how they may want to play, alongside having to gel together, but it's certainly got potential.

They've struck lucky with Fabinho and Henderson going to Saudi (oil money) otherwise they wouldn't have had the funds to do this.
