ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Wow!

One guy actually said missing out on Bellingham was worth it.

"Assuming we get Caicedo over the line, the three midfield signings we’ve made are as good a set of players in one window as we would ever likely get. If going for Bellingham would’ve meant missing out on at least two of these, I’d take how it’s worked out now in a heartbeat. The midfielders gone don’t really compare in terms of technical ability, energy and more importantly how they fit with what Klopp wants his midfield to be. Even Hendo and Fab were square pegs in round holes in the box system. Assuming these stay fit and adapt quickly, along with the attacking options we have, this could be some side. I’ve been critical of FSG since the dallying over Lavia, but hold my hands up as completely wrong if they’ve just gone and bought one of the top 3 DM’s in Europe."

I'm guessing that poster will now reassess his quality?

Chelsea have some pretty hefty sponsorship deals and have some sort of arrangement with Utrecht where they loan out players so they don't bog down the wage bill don't they?

I imagine that this is how they get away with all this spending from a FFP perspective
In the long run, I simply don't think that they will get away with it, but naively (like we were) they felt they could spend what they could and success would sort it.

They've done this thing of spreading contracts over eight or so years hoping to reduce the yearly book cost, however that avenue has already been closed.

Eventually, this will turn sour for Chelsea but hey ho - that's their pejorative. The grotesque numbers being spent by PL clubs is a much wider issue.

Seria A are the second-highest spenders (as a league) behind PL, but are only one third of what the PL has spent, and that's before whatever else is spent.

The PL has already spent more than Seria A (2nd), Ligue 1 (3rd) and the Saudi PL (4th) combined! Bundesliga and the LaLiga are way off what we've spent!

We talk about other leagues sustanability, yet one day I think this bubble will burst.

Seriously though

Brighton have played an absolute blinder here

Obviously it's all for naught if they don't buy well to replace these players, but if they do then they might honestly be the best run club in the entire league when you take into account all of the variables

Sensational stuff

Yeah, they're probably never going to win anything unless they get a good string of luck in a cup run, but they play some nice togger, they have a nice ground, they have a successful development and transfer system, they look like they could be a fixture in the division for many years to come. I doubt their supporters have many sleepless nights

I think that's all but guaranteed

Totally agree on the way Brighton are run and managed, theyve been great for a while.

Think Moses agent has really helped them here - flashed their drawers at the mighty pedz and then flutter their eyelashes at the rent boys. Everyone’s a winner.
