I don't know about Lavia, the way they were playing around with tiny bid increments over the last few weeks it was obvious that something was a bit amiss, and while the smelly masses may be shouting fire and brimstone about it I doubt those in charge would be crying into their beer if thats the way it works out. As I understand it too, while City have a buyback clause next summer for 40M, there's nothing preventing them signing him back this summer for the same price as Chelsea are paying, but getting 20% back to make it ~10M cheaper. If they don't do this especially after DeBruyne looking crocked this evening, you'd have to think its because they don't think he's worth it either, or else they've some other wonderkid coming through thats even better. I get that Lavia and DeBruyne are completely different types of player, but with how fluid City are with players and positions, I could still see them making it work if they wanted to and it being a better option than 90M+ for Paqueta.

Very interesting few days though, the implications for all teams involved and Spurs after Kane are enormous. What level of fee inflation will this have on the rest of the window for all PL teams, especially for clubs that have left it late in the window to make their big moves?

It is ludicrous in 2023 that we never sign these sorts of players or appear to have heard of them.

We we were in for Caicedo before Brighton went in for him + Lavia as a City player would have been known. Id expect Gnonto also to be known to us as he was in Italy youth sides.

I have had gastric problems for 4 days. Just got anti nausea tablets from the quack. Had one, fell asleep for about 4 hours and the rs transfer bellies up.

Off to pop a laxative in the Kenwright thread to see if it gets rid off that obstructive turd.
